"Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence and the remnants of these singularities were forged into concentrated ingots. These are known as The Infinity Stones." Six stones of immense power tied to different aspects of the former universe. Each of the stones possess unique capabilities that have been enhanced and altered by various alien civilizations through the millennia.
As stated before, each of the stones possess unique capabilities and powers. These are: Space, Time, Mind, Power, Soul, & Reality. The Space Stone is capable of providing instant access to any location throughout the universe. The Time Stone is said to allow the user to time travel; stop, slow down or speed up flow of time; accelerate or slow down aging; see into past/future. The Mind Stone has the power to subjugate the minds of others, bending them to the will of the user, as well as project the user's consciousness to a higher plane of existence. The Power Stone is an incredible power source, which, when used at full potential, has enough power to obliterate an entire planet. The Soul Stone is said to allow the user to observe, attack or even steal a being's soul or spirit. And lastly, the Reality Stone acts like a symbiotic force capable of being absorbed into the body of a living host, granting that person immense strength, power, and seemingly unlimited capabilities. When all 6 stones are forged together with the Infinity Gauntlet, it will allow the user to receive god-like powers.
Without a doubt, these stones can make any being in the MCU powerful beyond their wildest dreams. But so many questions are still left unanswered:
WHERE ARE THE 6 INFINITY STONES AND HOW IS THANOS GONNA GET THEM?
WHAT WE KNOW:
The Tesseract (Space Stone)
The Tesseract (Space Stone) is right now on Asgard. In other words it's in the possession of:
So we know that the Tesseract is in safe hands with the mighty "All-father" and that nothing will happen to it. Oh wait...
After the events of "Thor: The Dark World":
Loki takes Odin's place as King Of Asgard. (Obviously untruthfully).
We know that the Tesseract is now in Loki's or "Odin's" hands.
The Aether (Reality Stone):
The Aether (Reality Stone) is (unfortunately) in possession of:
The Scepter / Vision's Power Source (The Mind Stone)
The Mind Stone is right now on Earth, in Vision's possession, acting as his power source if I am not mistaken. The Vision was supposed to be the host body of Ultron, but fortunately, things didn't go the way he planned.
The Orb (Power Stone):
This gem is right now on the planet Xandar, owned by the Nova Corps.
WHAT WE DON'T KNOW:
The Soul Stone:
Many have speculated as to where this stone may be. Some believe it to be:
Now, I don't believe this to be Soul Stone because of what Volstagg said in the "Thor: The Dark World" post credit scene. If you do not remember, click the video here:
"It is not wise to keep 2 Infinity Stones so close together". So unless it was just a unforeseen script mishap or they locked the stone away somewhere "safe", I highly doubt that the Soul Stone is the Orb of Agamotto on Asgard.
The Time Stone:
Now this one is a very tricky one. Since this stone has also yet to make an appearance, but unlike the Soul Stone, the Time Stone is the least speculated of 2 stones because no one knows what storyline can involve time travel.
WHAT "COULD" HAPPEN IN THE MCU:
My theory is that "The Tesseract" will be coming very much into play in one of Marvel's upcoming productions:
The reason why: The end of all realms (Ragnarok) is certainly happening in Thor: Ragnarok. That includes the realm of Asgard. And I am sure that this guy right here will have some involvement in the event...
Rather than "bathe the starways in his blood" for his unfufillment of the invasion of Earth and the loss of 1 of his Infinity Stones, Loki would most likely cut a deal with Thanos, where Loki would hand over the Tesseract in exchange for his life. Now whether Thanos lets him live of die, that's up to the big guy.
The Collector (& his Infinity Stone) are more than likely to make a reappearance in:
The reason why: With Star-Lord's dad now being involved in the mix (James Gunn and Chris Pratt confirmed it themselves already), it is more than likely that Star-Lord will go out looking for him, and surely, the Guardians will follow him. That leaves the Collector & Thanos. My idea is that The Collector was "collecting" the Infinity Stones for Thanos in exchange of monetary gain. So it is likely that this exchange might happen.
The Mind Stone:
My theory is that Thanos would most likely be coming for this stone LAST. Since the stone is on Earth, I think he would want to wait until he has almost all the stones to invade the Earth. That's why I think Thanos will be making an approach towards the Mind Stone in:
The reason why: [The Avengers: Infinity War](tag:738027) will obviously be "the conclusion to everything that has come before". Now, because the movie is separated into 2 parts, I have a very big belief that Part 1 would mostly be Thanos forging the stones together and at the very end, having the full-fledged Infinity Gauntlet in his possession, while Part 2 will be pretty much the action-packed, easter-egg filled, crossover event that every Marvel fan has been dreaming off. Which also leads us to...
It is known that Thanos is looking for this gem and he will eventually take it from Xandar, but I have 2 theories on how Thanos may be able to gain this stone. Thanos could try to invade Xandar and take the orb from the planet in "Avengers: Infinity War (PART 1)" as part of letting the MCU know, that Thanos is coming and he's looking for Infinity Stones. Or the orb could appear in GOTG 2, and Thanos could have a "2 for 1 special" on Infinity Stones. Whatever the case may be, we know that Nova Prime's days with the orb are numbered.
The Soul Stone:
Now, for this stone, there could be 2 possibilities. It could be the Orb of Agamotto like many speculate it to be. Or it could be here:
Not in the Collector's room, I mean here:
Now, Adam Warlock is a character that has been known to be the wielder of the Soul Stone. And it is known that since the events of GOTG he has been released from his cocoon. So it is known that somewhere in the MCU, just like Howard the Duck, he is roaming around. But who could play this incredible character and when? The answer may lie here:
Why do I think this? Because MARVEL recently announced that an A-List actor is joining their universe for an incredible role in the MCU, but a small one in this particular movie.
Yes. I believe that Martin Freeman may play the "great" Adam Warlock, by appearing in either a small scene in Civil War or a BIG Post Credit scene. In the end, only time will tell.
The Time Stone:
Now, like stated before, this one is a very tricky one because no one knows what storyline can involve time travel. But I have a very "risky" theory on when and where this particular stone could appear:
And who might you ask owns this particular stone?
In a recent interview with Marvel, Hank Pym elaborated on his character,
"He's a formal guy. He's lost control of his company. He's just in a TIME WARP. He was always a bit of a tinkerer. He's got a lab, plus a lot of other stuff in his basement that we find out about. He's certainly bitter about what is happening with his company and deeply scared about what the FUTURE might hold.”
Just in case the wordplay did not convince you, let me set the scene below, careful though, quite possible spoilers for Ant-Man below, so read at your own risk:
It has been already revealed that Janet Van Dyne, a.k.a. The Wasp, will appear in this movie, but it has been speculated that an accident might have happened to her, and that she might not make it into the present. I speculate that amongst all of Pym's toys, the Time Stone may be in his lab and he has been tinkering with it in order to bring back Janet.
So in other words, let's say Hank believes in "Second Chances".
