I'm just going to put this straight out there - old movie trailers suck. Older movies might be great, but the trailers? Well, I don't think the film studios had quite got the hang of it back in the 70's and 80's. Perhaps they were better suited to audiences of that day and age, but no matter your opinion, we must all surely agree on one thing - modern trailers can be more exciting, don't give away too much of the plot and generally don't have that generic 'epic voice guy' doing the narration. If this wasn't the case, then I don't think we'd have hundreds of YouTube channels dedicated to trailer breakdowns and reaction videos, or millions of people raving online about how excited they are for a new flick after the trailer just leaked online.
Anyways, a very talented man by the name of Adam Eyster has created and released online his own modernized trailers for both 1974's 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and 1978's 'Halloween', which you can check out below. I have pasted both the original and remade trailers next to each other, so you can tell me in the comments - do you prefer the original 70's made trailers, or do the new ones make the films look that much more appealing?
