Ryan Reynolds is still getting his fair share of film appearances. The upcoming movie Self/Less will once again become another unlikely film starring Ryan Reynolds but he will also be accompanied by Ben Kingsley who will be doing a very strange trade-off in the movie. The sci-fi aspects of this film seem to be slightly downplayed to focus more on the Psychological workings of the movie. This is essentially a low-budget sci-fi that has high expectations from the people who produced it considering the talent they have brought in.

Here's the plot synopsis:

An extremely wealthy aristocrat (Ben Kingsley) dying from cancer, undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness into the body of a healthy young man (Ryan Reynolds). But all is not as it seems when he starts to uncover the mystery of the body’s origin, discovering the body was not the empty flesh he was promised and had a life and family before he was used for his own body, and the "organization" that will kill to protect its cause. To make matters worse, he faces the threat of losing control of the body he now possesses and its original owner's consciousness resurfacing, which will erase his mind in the process.

The concept of this movie may not be original but this could still be worth your time. You will watch as the film tries to show the negative effects of immortality and what happens when the natural order is disregarded. Kingsley will definitely be a major draw for this film since he seems to elevate most films that he appears in. Reynolds is still trying to convince critics that he can do serious dramatic roles so you could say this film is merely a visual essay being written and handed to them. Overall it might have a decent box office performance since the cast is enough to draw in viewers who might appreciate the subject matter.
