Now, there are a whole lot of reasons to love Marvel's currently-running Secret Wars crossover event. Not only is it jam-packed with gooey, geeky awesomeness, and more improbably cameos than you could shake an Asgardian hammer at, but it's taken as its focus pretty much every era of Marvel history that fans have been clamoring for more of for decades.

Plus, it features like a hundred Thors, which is always a good thing.

In the meantime, though, while we all wait for the next batch of comicbook awesomeness to be released (or the Trade Paperbacks, if you're so inclined), the good folks over at The Escapist have been trawling the Internet for some of the finest, loosely Secret Wars-themed fan art around.

Here are five of our favorites:

Planet Hulk, by Kameron Gates

Because lets be honest - who didn't want to see of Hulk kicking ass as a space-gladiator?

Thor, by Stephen Thompson

Because Thor is awesome - and Thors are even better...

Iron Man, by Justin Currie

Because honestly, whether in Armor Wars or not, everyone loves Iron Man.

Spider-Verse, by Sebastian von Buchwald

Because Spider-Gwen. Nuff' Said.

And, of course:

X-Men 92, by Abraham Katase

Because any comic - or fan art - that brings back the '90s animated series is a-ok in by book...

What do you reckon, though?
