As of last night, the official trailer for Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension debuted online.

From the very beginning, Paranormal Activity was one of those movies where you either loved it or hated it. Personally, I loved it; however, after the amount of continuous sequels, I've grown tired of it. The first film, released back in 2007, scared the daylights out of me. The sequel which hit theaters in 2010, scared me just as much as the first one. When we reached the third installment, it was said in the trailer that we would "discover the truth behind the activity". Let it be known for those of you who are not Paranormal fans that it raised more questions than answers. This was the film that I had begun to get bored of the movies.

By the time the fourth came around in 2012, the trailer had then said "it has all led to this". Well, I have to say that the ending in that movie wasn't that climatic and I was still scratching my head as to why all of this began....

Long behold, the spin-off titled Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones was released in 2014 and I was very hesitant about going to see it. In the end, I thought it was a cool spin-off that gave the franchise a breath of fresh air. The ending had also given the future installments the opportunity to take itself in a whole new direction. I wasn't entirely back on the band wagon for this franchise though.

So where are we now? Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension has been in the works since last year. Release dates have been moved around, the story has been kept under wraps, and fans have questioned all of the above with release dates, story concept, etc. Well, I AM happy to say that these questions are now answered in the trailer posted below. AND this has been said to be the final entry in the Paranormal Activity saga.

Producer Jason Blum stated that,

It's coming to an end. This is it, the finale. We're saying it before the movie opens. We're not going to grind this horror franchise into the ground. This will keep Paranormal Activity as part of this culture and this particular time in a really fantastic way.

Blum then went on to say,

We couldn't go just teasing. All the questions that everyone has asked from the past Paranormal Activity films: What does Toby look like? What's the backstory to the families? These questions have been teased out. Now they will be answered.

Well it's about time! I mean, we've only been wondering how confusing this storyline could get before the creators would have trouble explaining this to us themselves. If anything, the trailer makes it seem like we'll get some answers. Hopefully no more questions....

Another interesting fact is that this movie will finally reveal the look of the demon Toby. For a long time people have been asking, "Who's Toby? What does Toby look like?"

Oren Peli, the creator of the franchise revealed this by saying,

We've done well without showing Toby, being able to create tensions and scares based on audiences' imagination, but people are very curious.

If I'm not wrong, I believe you see what he looks like standing at the end of the girls bed in the video...

Let me say that, to be fair, the trailer looks pretty interesting. This will be the first time that a movie in this saga will be presented in 3D. Now, some may be excited about it, and others might not be. I'm one of those people that will be seeing this in 3D. The trailer makes it look like it'll be a fun time doing so.

Does it look like it's going to be scary? Well....ya know.....eehh...maybe? I'm not sure. All I can say is that it's the final installment, it's going to be released in October, Toby will be revealed, and the story is about a family that has moved into the house from the 3rd movie and weird stuff is happening with their daughter. PPPSSSSTTTTT....some kind of prophecy is involved.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension hits theaters October 23rd.

Are you guys ready for the end?
