The last we heard of Chris Pine , WB was courting the Star Trek lead actor to star across Gal Gadot in the Wonder Woman standalone film as the love interest, Steve Trevor. But according to Latino Review WB want the actor to play Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern.

Collider reported that the standalone Green Lantern film set for release in 2020 will feature more than one human Green Lantern. Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Guy Gardner are rumored to be the main three characters in the film.

As some of you may already know, the Green Lantern Corps is similar to an intergalactic police force, they maintain order in the universe and are given a green power ring which allows them to use the power of will, allowing them to create anything they can imagine. One specimen from each sector of the galaxy is initiated into the Corps. There have been many human Lanterns in the comics, so it would make sense for the film to focus on more than one.

Hal Jordan is the best known Green Lantern character and Pine has been at the top of many fan casting lists to take on the character. We last saw Hal Jordan in the 2011 standalone Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds (Self/less)and whilst many fans thought Reynolds was good in the role, the film didn't impress.

Reports claim that Warner Bros. intend to show off their entire Justice League line-up at this years San Diego Comic Con and will bring out two Green Lanterns, an actor for Hal Jordan and an actor for John Stewart. Whilst Latino Review is pretty certain Chris Pine is definitely up for the role of Jordan.

As for the role of Jon Stewart, Idris Elba (Pacific Rim) has been the top pick of many fans for the role for years now but his contract with Marvel still isn't over. The two actors most rumored for the role have been Common (Selma) and Tyrese Gibson (Furious 7). Common has been cast in DC's upcoming Suicide Squad as a villain, so he's out of the question now. Some of you may remember when Tyrese was campaigning for the role of John Stewart on social media, did this work? I guess we'll find out soon enough, if these rumors of John Stewart are true.
