We've got some breaking news about a solo Batman Reboot that is currently rumored to be titled, simply, The Batman. Ben Affleck will play Bruce Wayne, and it appears that the film will go up against Captain Marvel in November of 2018. This could be a retaliation of sorts after [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) kind of forced DC and Warner Bros. to move [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870).

This news of the Affleck-led new Batman project comes courtesy of Latino-Review, and along with the news of its working title, the site added that Chris Terrio (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice writer, and writer for both Justice League movies) is slated to work on The Batman as well. The director for the film is rumored to be Ben Affleck, so he'll be starring and directing. Talk about a lot of responsibility, and perhaps pressure, for our man Batfleck! I think he's up to the task, though.

There's a chance here that a team is in place to solidify an opportunity to get the franchise in position, perhaps, for an Oscar. If they do this right, it could be groundbreaking and transcend the superhero genre. We'll have to wait and see. Also, these are only rumors at this point and 2018 is a ways off, of course.

What do you think of this news?
