Sharks are big news at the moment! Jaws has just celebrated its 40 year anniversary, and everyone is just dying to see Sharknado 3 right? Right?!
Well, a few weeks ago it seemed like the latest 'scary sea creature that wants to eat everyone' movie had been washed up. But now it looks like it might be plain sailing for In The Deep.
The new thriller was set to be a mixture of 127 hours and Jaws (maybe next time Sharknado). But, it seemed director Louis Letterier got cold fins and distanced himself from the project. Sony, the studio making the movie, has now come to the rescue and is now in negotiations with potential life-saver Jaume Collet-Serra with hopes he will take the helm.
Collet-Serra is known for his Liam Neeson movies such as having captained Unknown, Nonstop and Run all Night. He also has experience with dry land horror such as House of Wax and Orphan.
Written by Tony Jaswinski, here's a little bit of bait to get you hooked:
A young woman who is dealing with the recent death of her mother who, while surfing on an isolated beach, gets stranded 20 yards off shore on a buoy. What lies between her and the shore is a huge great white shark.
With all this shark action it's hard to not get excited to see all the sharp toothed, limb tearing stuff that the world of cinema has to offer in anticipation.
Go on, get your fins around the teaser for the new Sharknado movie!
