With the age of book-to-film adaptations dying a slow death after the dwindling monotonous of The Hunger Games and targeted YA audiences for the Divergent and The Maze Runner series, gamers and graphic design au faits are welcoming the uprising of the novelty game-to-film era. We're already wating diligently for the casting and production of The Last of Us (Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams being eyed for Ellie) and development on World of Warcraft and Michael Fassbender's [Assassin's Creed](tag:437814), which has just made the addition of The Lobster actress Ariane Labed, who is reputed to portray the love interest, possibly for protagonist Desmond Miles whom Fassbender is rumoured to play.

This leaves petulant fans waiting for the finalisation of a tenacious director to helm the heavily postponed Uncharted: The Motion Picture... (not official title.) However, prepare to be on tender hooks evermore, as the previously ardent Horrible Bosses auteur Seth Gordon has become the third director to jump ship, after Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell and Divergent's Neil Burger both got lost at sea, during which Mark Wahlberg and Castle's Nathan Fillion were both geared up to tell the escapades of protagonist Nathan Drake. Both affiliations fizzled out before they could become rumours.

Prospects were high as the disclosure of the Uncharted logo was revealed at Cinema-Con earlier this year and even a 2016 release date seemed ironclad, but alas Sony mogul Tom Rothman has devulged production will be swerving in a new "creative direction" to possibly take weight off the preconcieved Uncharted series. Do I hear budgets being cut?

This leaves nothing but the plot to dabble over for now, as we expect the timeline to home in on treasure hunter Drake's numerious excursions to uncover historial enigmas of Shangri-La, El Dorado et al, where exotic locations and high-octane action will demand a plausible budget and substantial creative support.

Contrary to fans disbelief, we're hoping that in the wake of the Xbox and PS4 upheaval that creators of this much anticipated island crusade will scotch the arduous task and simply get the finger out.
