So I went to go see Entourage which I was really excited to see as I loved the tv series, however the showings changed so I went to go see Jurassic World instead as it had be receiving generally positive reviews. Jurassic World continues the story of Jurassic Park being set many years after the first film where a successful park has been established however to keep people coming to the park they have to create a new attraction; a genetically spliced dinosaur designed to be bigger, stronger and more frightening than any other. Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Irrfan Khan and Vincent D'Onofrio.
There are quite a few positives to this film, which include: great action, pretty good acting, intensity was built well, the score was really good, the plot progression was great and the wonder is back into the franchise. To expand, the action in this film was really cool as the fights between the dinos and the destruction they caused was fun to see; the acting in the film was pretty solid there wasn't a performance that stood out but there wasn't any bad acting either. In scenes where people had to hide from the dinos or when the main character's lives were in danger, the scenes were filled with tension which was built and sustained perfectly. The new bits of score that were in the film were OK but nothing special, it was when John Williams' score played that the nostalgia kicked in and made this film feel like another installment in the franchise. The score and the scenes it accompanied brought back the wonder and awe that was so important in the first film but was missing in the later films (I actually really like Lost World but JP3 I'm not a fan of); there was also a lot of references to the first film which could have felt forced but in this film I found it to be quite natural.
On the side of negatives there really isn't a lot, the only flaw this movie really has is its lack of a complex plot and characters however this film isn't meant to be deep Jurassic World is a fantastic popcorn flick. It is also a great addition to the franchise and I know it is unlikely but I hope that they don't make another.
Overall I really enjoyed Jurassic World it gave me exactly what I wanted out of another Jurassic Park film and for that it can't be faulted so taking everything I have said into consideration, I rate this film:
