Now that I've written a post on bad DC Comics films, I am now going to write a post on good DC Comics films.
Note: These are only my opinion. If you do not agree, please comment and tell me why in a civil way. Also, if you do not agree with someone who comments on this post, please do not bash and put hate on them. Secondly, these are in no particular order. Thank you for taking note, and enjoy!
5) Batman Begins (2005)
Have you ever seen someone on NO or another site or heard someone say, "Marvel's Iron Man changed the superhero genre"? Well, to be honest, it kind of did. But guess what movie brought the superhero genre back from the dead?
Yup, that's right. "Batman Begins" did. So, not only was it a wonderful film, but it also brought superheroes back and ultimately gave us the MCU and DCCU by redefining superhero films.
But besides that, it had great acting from people like Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and especially Christian Bale. Speaking of Christian Bale, he is considered by some to be the best Bruce Wayne/Batman, and some say that he's the second best, staying right behind Michael Keaton's Batman. The action sequences, CGI, and writing.
4) Man of Steel (2013)
This film received very mixed reviews, but I, personally, love this film. It started the DCCU, so I'm sure that even those who didn't like the film still find a spot that they like.
One part people didn't like was the very, very dark tone it had, but that's just Snyder's way. And I thought the tone was dark, yet it still had some parts that weren't so dark. Anyways, Superman vs. General Zod was great, and so was all the action. Writing was great, and just about everything was great, in my humble opinion.
3) The Dark Knight (2008)
"The Dark Knight", the sequel to "Batman Begins" from 2005, was and still is a very successful film, and it is possibly one of the most iconic superhero films. Many remember it for the Heath Ledger's portrayal of the iconic villain, The Joker. Along with Heath Ledger's Joker, it also has all of the great things of "Batman Begins". And to be honest, this is in my top five films of all time. So, truthfully, this is one of the few examples of what I would call a perfect film!
2) Batman Returns (1992)
After the greatness that was "Batman" from 1989, we got even more greatness from "Batman Returns" from 1992. I love this film, and so does almost everyone else.
Despite the Penguin's popularity, he hasn't been in very many Batman films. (As a matter of fact, I think that "Batman Returns" is the only film the Penguin has appeared in.) That aside, Danny DeVito delivered to us a great Penguin. Then, we also got an amazing Catwoman. Michelle Pfeiffer is arguably the best Catwoman yet. Though, I will admit that, even though it's a good film, it did fall short of "Batman", its predecessor.
1) Green Lantern (2011)
I may get a lot of hate for this one, but I genuinely enjoy "Green Lantern" from 2011. I won't go too far into this, but I will quickly overview a few reasons why it's a good film.
One, Ryan Reynolds gave us funny, bad@$$, and attitude. That's the Hal Jordan we know and love. Second, who didn't do a little shriek of excitement when Green Lantern said his oath? I mean, that was one of the best parts! Last but not least, it had some great action sequences.
One thing that I can't overlook is the villain. Why did they turn Sparallax into a cloud? They did the same thing with "Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer, by turning Galactus into a cloud. I just simply don't understand why a cloud is the go-to object to turn a villain into.
Well, some of these you may agree with, and some of these you won't agree with. I know I could have included many more DC films, but I didn't want to make this too long. But anyways, I hoped you enjoyed reading this, and remember to look out for more posts of mine. Very soon, I will be posting Part 3 of my dream story of Avengers: Infinity War, containing the Justice League and The Avengers against Thanos. Until next time, Goodbye and thanks for reading!!!
