Tom cruise will be taking a walk on the side of history in his upcoming film "Mena". the film is being directed by Doug Liman who already collaborated with cruise in the sci-fi action thriller "Edge of Tomorrow". Cruise has had number of projects with his name attached to them but this could one of his more low-key gigs. The movie itself will a biopic with elements of drama and and action which could be reminiscent of other Tom Cruise films.

Here's some info about the film:

in this international escapade based on the outrageous (and real) exploits of Barry Seal, a hustler and pilot unexpectedly recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in U.S. history.

The synopsis indicates that this movie will have some significant commentary on the CIA and how they conducted operations during that time depending on the historical inaccuracies of the film. This movie will probably be compared to Jeremy Renner's kill the messenger which also involved the CIA being involved or concerned about drug smuggling. Ultimately there might debates about which of these two films in better in terms of execution and story, should be fun.

Tom cruise's role in "A few good men" is still praised up to this very day for its tight-knit story and masterful execution. Mena could possibly be the Tom cruise's next big film where he dabbles in Intense drama. This film is kind of being overlooked but that could change after a trailer is dropped.Tom cruise's movies usually suffer from lack of advertising or very little advertising, but that is not the case with the Mission Impossible films. All in all we could be looking at a potential Oscar contender or just a very memorable film.
