Recently, Marvel announced that they were going to do an all new reboot of the Comic Marvel Universe. Kind of like a new "Marvel 52," but not with DC. Well, what if in an alternate reality, they were rebooting the Marvel Cinematic Universe with these guys? I decided to take a couple of the "new" characters and see who could play them. Yes, I took a few liberties, but I think the idea is solid.

Thor, Goddess of Thunder

Bow before your goddess of thunder

So recently Thor was turned into "Thor Goddess of Thunder." The regular ol' male Thor was deemed unworthy to wield Mjolnir, his hammer. It was also revealed that the new Thor is Jane Foster, played in the MCU by Natalie Portman. Jane Foster has cancer and is dying:

"This world needs a Thor. A god who loves the Earth enough to die for it...I am Dr. Jane Foster. And I will not stop being the mighty Thor. Even though it is killing me (Huffingpost.com)."

I was not a fan of Natalie with the shaved head....

I think he said his name was....Thor?

I don't think Natalie has the body type to get the job of Female Thor done. She can play Jane Foster, but she would physically transform into somebody else. You need somebody with presence, muscles, blond hair and can pull off being a goddess behind a mask.

Yes, Rhonda Rousey of MMA fame. I included this picture below because it shows a real-life Thor Goddess of Thunder is possible cinematically. Also, see Sif.

Old Steve Rogers

Captain America, Steve Rogers, was turned into an old man after all the Super-Soldier serum in his body was sucked out. While my choice doesn't really look like Chris Evans or an WWII soldier, Dale Dye gets the job done. In my opinion, he embodies Cap and an old school soldier. He was a marine who's seen combat. Watch him in Outbreak or any movie he's ever done....

Miles Morales, Ultimate Spider-Man

Well, duh...

Donald Glover may not be the right age to play Miles, but he is that character.

Spider-Gwen

I pretty much can't imagine anybody else playing Gwen Stacey. Personal Note: If Marvel doesn't use this image as an alternate cover for the new Spider-Gwen comic series, there's something wrong with them...

Gwen Stacey everybody

Plus, I want to hear the Mary Janes rock out....

Hulk

I have no idea if the rumors about Ultimate Reed Richards becoming the Hulk are accurate, but it sounds cool....

And...stretch!

This image reminds me of that old Hulk episode where Banner dreams of the Lou Ferrigno Hulk in a cage and the two come face to face...

New Wolverine

This looks like Logan's daughter, X-23 in his old X-Men uniform.

Who else but Summer Glau could pull it off? Have you seen Serenity or Arrow? She has the grace, acting chops and street cred to play the daughter of Hugh Jackman.

Watch me soar....

Old Man Logan

I didn't want him to played by Hugh Jackman, however. This Logan needs a certain gravitas to him, and old man weighed down by his violent past and present actions.

Take Clint Eastwood and any soldier and cranky old man that he's played and combine him with his character from the overrated Unforgiven, and you've got Old Man Logan. And, of course, Clint not being weighed down by being an old man.

Hyperion

The Squadron Supreme's version of Superman...

Well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it....

Ms Marvel

The new Ms Marvel series is incredible and is fun to read. Casting her, however, is a whole other story. She's a 16 year old Muslim girl from New Jersey who's figuring out what it means to be both a fangirl and a superhero. Who to choose?

So I asked the Internet and found somebody.

Rowan Blanchard from Girl Meets World (a Disney channel show) has the right age and enthusiasm that screams Kamala Khan--which is primarily why I chose her. According to the above Wikipedia article, her grandparents are Middle Eastern. I'm not sure if that's Middle Eastern enough to do right by that character, but it's a start.

Dr. Strange

Mainly, I want to know why he has an axe...

And can Benedict Cumberbatch pull off both magic and Medieval weaponry?

The Thing and Rocket Racoon

Imagine Ben Grimm in Guardians of the Galaxy...

...with this guy?

Falcon/Captain America

Anthony Mackie's characterization of Sam Wilson in Winter Soldier is perfect....

Tony Stark

This last one I'm going to do a bit differently. Right before this reboot, Marvel turned Tony Stark evil. I don't think he's evil anymore. I want to do this Tony. Super villain Tony. Perhaps he can be the Loki for the team (who come together despite alternate dimensions and interpersonal issues). Evil Tony brings Extremis to the masses--a pay-per-view evil!

Even his armor has been done by the Iron Man movies and Hot Toys:

And obviously, only one person can play Tony Stark, evil or not...

Would you go see this movie?
