Director Bryan Singer has been releasing a lot of behind-the-scenes videos of the upcoming film "X-Men: Apocalypse". Bryan has been teasing the potential awesomeness of this movie that will be coming to theaters next year! This time it wasn't Bryan who teased some epic footage, as the new X-Men star Olivia Munn posted a 15 second video of her showing off some awesome Psylocke style sword/katana skills! Not too many details have been leaked or said about Olivia's role in the film, other than that she will have purple hair.

It's pretty cool seeing that she's training hard and learning some new tricks!

I'm pretty sure spinning a katana like that, isn't something you just learn overnight. You can tell that her hard work for the role is really paying off and it's going to be epic to see how those moves will look on the big screen!

Two months ago, Olivia also posted a photo up on Instagram that would possibly and actually may be teasing her Psylocke costume!

Along with the photo, she said in the caption:

If the latex fits...

Do you think the new possible latex Psylocke costume looks good? Does it fit?

Who is Psylocke?

Psylocke, who's real name is Elizabeth Braddock, is a mutant known to be born with telekinetic and telepathic abilities. She is also able to manipulate psionic energy to create weapons, mostly for creating swords and knives. Psylocke is very skilled in sword/katana fighting. That's why it's important for Olivia Munn to learn how to work a blade!

Psylocke first appeared in the Marvel's UK series "Captain Britain" and was initially a supporting character in the adventures of her twin brother, Captain Britain, and was briefly substituting for him in the role, before becoming apart of the X-Men in 1986. She was first known as telepath, but then eventually had her mind placed in the body of a Japanese female ninja known as Kwannon, acquiring many of Kwannon's martial arts skills and elements of her personality. Later on, Psylocke received the power of telekinesis.

The film will mostly be ignoring her British upbringing, and just focus on her being a psychic ninja.

Will Olivia Munn be good for the role?

As you can see in the video Olivia, posted on her personal Instagram, she is training very hard to fit perfectly for the role of Psylocke. Physically, she's most likely able to pull it off. Acting wise, well...she has a chance! This wouldn't be the first time that Olivia has made an appearance in a comic book based movie, as she made a small, tiny appearance in "Iron Man 2". She has also starred in other movies such as, Mortdecai, The Newsroom, Magic Mike, and Deliver Us From Evil.

In an interview with "U.S. Weekly" Olivia expressed on what inspired her to get into acting. It was actually an 80's T.V character!

I've always wanted to be an actress since I was a little girl, since I was watching Punky Brewster, when I found out she was an actress, that's what I wanted to do.

This may surprise you, but Olivia also considers herself apart of the "geek squad"!

I moved around a lot as a kid and I was always the new girl, the people who always had a place for me to sit at lunch were the geeks. The interesting thing about the term "geek" is that before it used to mean social anxiety on the outside, but geeks run the world right now.

Maybe playing the role of a comic book character is something that she's always wanted to do!

Do you think Olivia Munn was a should have been picked for Psylocke in "[X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267)"?

X-Men: Apocalypse will be released to theaters on May 27, 2016 featuring, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, and Rose Byrne, and new X-Men actors such as, Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Ben Hardy (as Angel), Lana Condor (Jubilee) and Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse).
