The glory years of Peter Capaldi’s Doctor and Clara.

Many promises have been made from executive producers and writers, Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin, about the season 9 of Doctor Who, and we couldn't be more excited! Season 8 introduced us to the new, darkest and more serious doctor... However Peter Capaldi has proven himself to be less scary than we first thought... Steven Moffat has confirmed that this year an effort will be made to create a better profile for Peter Capaldi, in order to create a distance between him and Matt Smith's doctor. The new series will be a combination of silliness and dark events happening. If the writers achieve that, the combination will be one of the most amazing things to have ever happened in the series!

But what about Companions?

As you may remember, the relationship between Clara and the doctor was going through a crisis (something totally inexplicable, if you ask me, since Clara has seen all 12 incarnations of the doctor) Anyway, Jenna Coleman (Clara) recently said that this season Clara gets really close with the doctor and they create a very strong bond! And of course Missy (my favorite incarnation of the Master) is returning, and a surprise is promised, while still keeping the character's eccentric pewrsonality! I've also read a rumor ( I don't know if it's true, it's just a rumor) that river will return for a cameo! I couldn't be more excited for this! I know that River's timeline is "over" but I'm sure that Steven Moffat can do something! River and peter Capaldi's doctor would be a very interesting combination, if you ask me! And Steven Moffat said (and I quote) :

“As to changing it up with the companion [being a young female from present day Earth] … Wait and see. We absolutely could vary it.”

What does this mean?

What to expect in the first episode?

Our next installment.
Our next installment.

Written by Steven Moffat.

Directed by Hettie Macdonald (Filming block 2).

Guest cast: Michelle Gomez as Missy, Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, Kelly Hunter, Clare Higgins, Jaye Griffiths, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as Bors, Jami Reid-Quarrell, Aaron Neil as Mr Dunlop, India Ria Amarteifio, Joey Price, Dasharn Anderson as Ryan, Harki Bhambra as Mike Jameson, Demi Papaminas, Jonathon Ojinnaka as a soldier.

Michelle Gomez:

“Things have been a little beige since I left Missy behind, so I’m delighted to be putting my lippie back on. I’m positively dying to see the Doctor again!”

Steven Moffat:

“Everybody hide – Michelle Gomez as Missy was an instant hit last year, so she’s straight back to plague the Doctor and Clara in the series opener. But what brings her back into their lives is the last thing they’d expect.”

And that's all we know! (for now!)

Do you like Michelle Gomez incarnation of the Master, or did they change the character too much?
