There were reports earlier this year by Variety that Sony was auditioning for a younger Spider-Man, someone that would be a suitable age for a high school student. Rumored potential Spider-Mans were Dylan O'Brian (The Maze Runner and Teen Wolf), Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Asa Butterfield (Ender’s Game) and many more.

As Spider-Man is a role which many boys can only dream of, it's tricky to imagine how an audition to become this superhero would even run. After months of speculation and great anticipation, British actor Tom Holland (The Impossible) has been cast in the incredible role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Fans have been getting on board, showing their support for the young new superhero by creating some kick-ass fan art.

Check it out below.

CC-Scorsese has created this sweet image of Tom as Spider-Man using digital art and photo manipulation. I can only imagine Tom Holland's face will be a permanent beaming smile as he practices for his role as Spider-Man.

2. Spidey

This cartoon by Percevanche brings everything back to its cartoon origins, a creative tribute to the new Spider-Man.

3. The Spectacular Spider-Man

Heroichollywood's digital art of Tom Holland looks like he was born for this role, his Spider-Man outfit suits him perfectly.

This digital art is really incredible, it was created by Bosslogic on Twitter and really just enhances how well Tom will step into his new acting shoes.

If you are still wavering on being convinced of whether Tom will make a great new Spider-Man then take a look at this video. He is taking his new role very seriously and has been taking every opportunity to practice stunts:

Tom Holland is barely 19 and has already got the world at his feet in stepping into the Spider-Man role. I really am looking forward to seeing how his career develops.
