Everyone is talking about the highly anticipated Warner Bros. DC Comics adaption film Suicide Squad. The film is heading to screens in 2016 and this time it's not superheroes headlining a film but a group of supervillains heading out on dangerous missions. The cast have already started filming now that the all star lineup is complete and it has been revealed that a psychiatrist has been brought on set to keep the actors on the right path...

Suicide Squad is going to be a very dark movie. In an interview Adam Beach, who will be playing Slipknot in the film, said that the director David Ayer is all about realism.

"So if your character is tormented, he wants you to torment yourself. He wants the real thing."

But the director wants his actors to leave their characters on set and not take them home with them. The stars for the movie include Will Smith as Deadshot, Jaret Leto as The Joker and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, to name a few.

Director David Ayer is on a mission to keep things on the right track and has hired a psychiatrist to keep the actors in line. As the dark story evolves, what the director does not want is for the actors to get consumed by their roles. Beach said:

"We kind of have like a therapist on board if you fall off the wagon and really are villainous. There's a friend of [Ayer's] that's very unique in making sure we have our ground."

It sounds to me that a therapist has been hired just in time!

Jared Leto has started some Joker style pranks

Jared Leto is going all in on his role as the Joker. His co-stars have been publicly talking about the bizarre gifts that he has been sending them. Jared is definitely doing all he can to get into the role of this troublesome villain by carrying out these pranks:

"He sent Harley [Margot Robbie] a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it -- a live rat. It was beautiful. Then he sent bullets to Will [Smith] with a letter."

Here is the little rat that was sent to the cast.

And if you thought that was bad enough, you have probably already heard how Jared went to a further extreme by sending his co-stars a further unwelcome gift. The latest gift came in the form of a dead hog along with a video of Jared talking in full character as the Joker.

In the video according to Adam Beach, Jared said:

"Guys, I can’t be there but I want you to know I’m doing my work as hard as you guys."

Beach said:

“The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real."

I can her alarm bells, can you? I dread to think what other pranks are coming for his unsuspecting co-stars.

The Dark Knight

Another reason that a psychiatrist may have been brought on board could be due to Heath Ledger's behavior getting very strange during the filming of The Dark Knight. Heath kept a diary so that he could maintain the Joker's persona on and off camera. According to reports, Heath got obsessive with his role as the Joker so much that the lines between reality and acting fused. It affected his mood, sleeping patterns and communication with other cast members. There are lots of reports that Heath Ledger was urged to seek psychiatric help during filming.

Leto is known for his method acting. This is a style of acting which helps actors develop lifelike performances by creating the thoughts and feeling for their characters within themselves. The actor has previously submerged himself in acting roles. He lost 40 lbs for his Oscar-winning role in Dallas Buyers Club and gained a whopping 67 lbs for the role of Mark David Chapman in Chapter 27. This is the first reported time, however, that he has played twisted pranks on co-stars, but perhaps this is all light-hearted fun and not as dark as it may seem.

Suicide Squad's cast members will be portraying various characters with different states of mental health along with 'big' personalities, it's no surprise that a psychiatrist has been roped in for their welfare.
