Even though 2015 has lost the likes of Uncharted 4, [Tom Clancy's The Division](tag:2684169) and The Legend of Zelda to 2016, this year still holds some of the most anticipated games in recent memory. The Witcher 3 was spectacular, Bloodborne is a masterpiece and [Batman: Arkham Knight](tag:2683936) is some of the most fun you'll have with a game. So far, this has been a fantastic year for the industry but the video game gods have more gifts to offer.
[Star Wars: Battlefront](tag:2684021), Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fallout 4 and [Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain](tag:2683985) are just a few of the games that still await a release date and I'm dying to know what the community are looking forward to the most! Each one offers a very different gaming experience and I'll probably end up buying them all. But even though Fallout 4 has been coming for years, I may actually be more excited for Hideo Kojima's conclusion to the Metal Gear Solid franchise with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
Anticipated Release Dates - Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain vs Fallout 4
As a child who loved to engage with Video Games, I mostly spent my time with the likes of Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Jak and Daxter and Rayman. But outside of these generally childish - but still incredible - games, there was one adventure that I never stopped playing: Metal Gear Solid on Playstation.
It was probably the first more adult-centric game I'd played. I'm sure a lot of the plot went completely over my head, but the gameplay was so engaging I couldn't help but adore it. The Metal Gear franchise has been a beautiful series to watch evolve over the years with the faithful guidance of Hideo Kojima. The man has made some crazy choices over the years, but Metal Gear never disappoints.
After having viewed an endless torrent of trailers, gameplay demonstrations and interviews concerning Metal Gear Solid 5, there are certain aspects of the game that make it my most anticipated title left in 2015:
- Seeing if Keifer Sutherland can become a worthy Big Boss.
- Can Hideo Kojima give a more epic conclusion to MGS5 than he did with Metal Gear Solid 4?
- Listening to songs from the franchise and the 80s as I conduct missions.
- Using the skills of our canine companion during missions.
- Having my helicopter play music as it drops me off and picks me up.
- Intense multiplayer action!
- To see how advanced Kojima's enemy AI has really become.
- Using weather to aid stealth approaches.
- To see if an open world environment was the way Metal Gear Solid was destined to be played.
Would You Pick Fallout 4 Over Metal Gear Solid 5?
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain looks like an absolute sensation, and the latest gameplay trailer from E3 2015 has me ridiculously hyped. But do you think it can compare with Fallout 4 or even the amazing-looking Star Wars: Battlefront? I can't wait for Bethesda's first PS4 and XBOX One title, but I suppose I have a nostalgic connection to Metal Gear Solid! The release date for Metal Gear Solid 5 is September 1st and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Let us know where you stand in the comments below!
