While promoting Terminator Genisys, Arnie, a.k.a. Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked about the status of The Legend of Conan, which, like Genisys, is yet another remake of a classic featuring the man who governed California for two radical terms.

The last time audiences saw Arnold in the role was back in 1984 for Richard Fleischer's version. Here's what he had to say to NerdReport:

“I was hoping to do another one and I was hoping that the idea of Conan having been king for a long time, then just threw it all away and went into retirement and went off into the mountains. That whole idea always appealed to me. Then of course he gets asked back because of some hideous and unbelievable things that are happening to the kingdom. So that’s when the battle begins again.”

Schwarzenegger remarked that the script "turned out really great," but "it needs some tweakage." He'll probably focus more on Conan once he completes his press work for Terminator Genisys. I actually thought, contrary to popular opinion, that Terminator Genisys was a solid film. I hope it does well.

And the classic trailer for the original film is epic enough to force me to at least give this new version a shot. Maybe not to top what was already done, but at least to pay homage and entertain.
