Apocalypse. His name alone should be enough to scare the pants off you. Also known as En Sabah Nur, Apocalypse is undoubtedly one of the most powerful mutants, and one of the most powerful beings in the entire Marvel universe, and soon to appear in [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267). Aside from his knowledge of Celestial technology, as well as super human intelligence, En Sabah Nur can shape shift, regenerate from fatal injuries, adapt his body to any enviroment, and give himself virtually any physical superhuman power. As well as this, he is alo a Technopath, being able to directly interface with any technology at his disposal. So, who do you call on to take down what many ancient cultures regarded as a god, and others a demon?

1. Doctor Strange

So, how exactly do you go about killing a god? Simple, you call upon "The Mightiest Magician In The Cosmos"

Stephen Strange strikes a pose
Stephen Strange strikes a pose

Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange is widely regarded as the most powerful sorcerer in the Marvel Universe. Formerly a neurosurgeon, Strange serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, defender of Earth against magical and mystical threats. Doctor Strange draws his powers from several mystical entities. Oh, and he fought Death. Twice. And survived. And did I mention he can effortlessly travel through time?

2. The Mandarin

And no, I certainly do not mean The Mandarin from Iron Man 3 *shudders*

This guy should make Thor jealous...
This guy should make Thor jealous...

Brilliant tactician? Check.

Gifted Strategist? Check.

Genius-level intellect? Check.

Oh, and not one, but /ten/ rings of power? Check.

So, we have the most powerful sorcerer on the planet, what else can really top that? The answer? A man with the ability to split Iron Man's armour WITH HIS BARE HANDS. The Mandarin is one of Earths greatest scientific minds, and has mastered martial arts to such a high degree, that he can go years without food or water, apparently sustaining himself through his mastery of chi. But most impressive of all, are the ten rings of power The Mandarin weilds. Taken from the warp-drive engines of the Makluan starship Axonn-Karr, The Mandarin learned how to control the rings via mental commands, and respond to his will. Each ring has a different power; one ring emits an atom-destroying beam of energy, whilst another can re-arrange the atoms themselves, a power similar to Apocalypse's shape-shifting, but on...other people....

Basically, Apocalypse should be getting a little worried right about now, but he should be heading for the hills after the next member of the team is introduced...

3. Larfleeze

The power of an entire corp in the palm of one man...

He even /looks/ scary
He even /looks/ scary

DC's Larfleeze, also known as Agent Orange, is a member of the Orange Lantern Corps, the Corps associated with Greed, and of which Larfleeze is the only member. As there are no other rings being used under the Orange Light, the Orange Lantern power source puts all of it's energy solely into Larfleeze, allowing him to literally create a corps that is merely an extension of his own power. His ring can reach a power level of over 9000 (100,000%, to be precise), making him incredibly strong when compared to the likes of the Green Lanterns (Sorry, Hal). He is also able to absorb the energy of the other rings, excluding Blue and Purple, putting the other corps in a difficult spot should they ever need to bring him down.

So, we have the most powerful magician in the cosmos, a super genius with ten rings of power, and one of the strongest lanterns in the universe. I think these three alone could take down Apocalypse, but just to be sure, lets throw in one more member...

4. Dr Manhattan

Lets throw a walking nuclear disaster into the mix, shall we?

Whatever you do, do NOT call this guy "a big smurf"
Whatever you do, do NOT call this guy "a big smurf"

Where do you even begin with Dr. Manhattan? Formerly Dr. Jon Osterman, the nuclear physicist was disintegrated in an Intrinsic Field Subtractor, but managed to slowly reconstruct himself. And that's the first trick he learnt. Here's just a few of Dr. Manhattans abilities:

-He can duplicate himself

-Twelfth-level intelligence

-Full control of matter at a sub-atomic level

-Full perception of time

-Cross-dimensional awareness and travel

And many, many more. Basically, if you can think of something, chances are Dr. Manhattan can do it /before/ you've even had the conversation about doing it.

If this team doesn't scare Apocalypse even a little, then all hope is truly lost.
