Unless you've managed to sever contact with all media outlets, you'll have learned that A-List power couple, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, have split.
After ten years of marriage - TEN YEARS! - Ben & Jen have announced their intention to divorce. Sadly, many tabloids have chosen to fixate on the 'reason' - as if there is always one simple reason for why something as complex as a marriage ends - citing Ben's alleged gambling and hectic shooting schedule.
Really, though, what's more important here: crowing about another couple's worries or just taking a step back and thinking, ten years of marriage? Good job!
What's more, Ben & Jen are conducting themselves like proper adults. Adults get married, adults get divorced, and they pick themselves up and carry on. Particularly admirable is their decision to continue cohabiting for the near future. Rather than scrapping over assets, the now ex-couple are continuing to create a stable life for their three children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
What Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are currently experiencing is just another case in a long stream of unpleasantness from the tabloid quarter: Kaley Cuoco has recently been attacked for so-called 'divorce rumors' and Kristen Stewart and her girlfriend are often followed mercilessly by the paparazzi.
With this in mind, let's take a second to say well done to Ben & Jen for their long relationship and seemingly amicable split. Just because it's over, doesn't mean it wasn't love.
