When I was considering writing an article for this contest, I was trying to consider what 'forces' I would be using for my article. As I scrolled through the recent comments of other entries I noticed that most of the articles involved lots of large, powerful and supernatural forces. I decided I didn't want to approach it that way. I decided to go for something a little more human. Instead of superheroes with off-world powers, or gigantic mythical battles.

4 Assassins That Could Catch Anyone

In the dictionary the term assassin is described as follows:

"Assassin (noun): 1. a murderer of an important person in a surprise attack for political or religious reasons."

I've chosen four of the greatest fictional assassins ever to have graced our epic fantasies, and put them to the test.

However, if we are going to test an assassin, we need someone to assassinate. If we want to see how effective they are they need to hunt down someone really sneaky and hard to catch. The best person I could come up with was Aiden Pearce.

The Force: Aiden Pearce

The Escapist: Aiden Pearce
The Escapist: Aiden Pearce

Aiden Pearce is the protagonist for the popular game 'Watch Dogs', which introduced a wildly new idea to the video gaming industry. Being able to secretly control your surroundings to your benefit. In the game Pearce is able to do this through his cell phone. He can hack into almost anything, ranging from traffic lights to cars to, well almost anything. This would make Pearce a very difficult target for our four contestants as he will have the means to disappear completely.

The Assassins

1. Agent 47

The Fighter: Agent 47
The Fighter: Agent 47

Known form the classic Hitman: Agent 47 game, this assassin is ruthless and calculating. His defining characteristic is his emotionless and immorality in killing. When speaking he only talks in a monotonous and calculating manner, making him frightening even without being an assassin.

Agent 47's abilities are at the peak of human strength and agility, and is master at any hand to hand combat. He is also very well trained in any firearms and explosives, and even poisons and sedatives.

How he would take out Pearce:

Agent 47 has terrific track record and is given all of the most difficult and complex assignments. Although Pearce would use his technology to be able to avoid him, the agent doesn't need technology to track someone down. One of his primary weapons is human psychology. If Pearce constantly keeps running into the Agent, he will eventually engage in a small shootout, or engage in hand to hand combat. Although Pearce is a very skilled fighter, we all know that he doesn't stand a chance against the Agent.

2. Boba Fett

The Hunter: Boba Fett
The Hunter: Boba Fett

Considered the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy - the Star Wars galaxy that is - by even Darth Vader himself, Boba Fett can consider himself very capable of hunting down and killing Pearce. Boba Fett's technology and equipment are top notch, with tough but lightweight armour, a powerful blaster and a jetpack for fighting, and a range of equipment, one of them being his ship the Slave I, to help him track down his targets. After all, it is what he does for a living.

Boba Fett isn't only well equipped, but he is very cunning, and knows how to get around. Finding people hard-to-find people (like Han Solo for example) has never really been a problem for Fett.

How he would take out Pearce:

Boba Fett is used to technology getting in his way. Pearce's equipment is a piece of cake compared to some of the thing Fett has had to get through first. Finding Pearce wouldn't be a problem, and neither would killing him. With armour and weaponry like that he'll be a hard one to hinder.

3. Deadshot

The Marksman: Deadshot
The Marksman: Deadshot

Maybe the name gives it away, but Deadshot is an amazing sniper and gunslinger. Knowledgable of almost any kind of gun inside and outside Gotham city, he is known to give even the Batman a hard time avoiding his bullets. Deadshot is an extremely deadly sniper with some extremely deadly equipment, the most notable being his eye-scope that he wears over his right eye.

How he would take out Pearce:

Deadshot knows how to find someone that can disappear, and his name is Batman. If anyone Batman can disappear, so what sort of a challenge would Pearce be for Deadshot? Second of all, Pearce probably won't know Deadshot is in the neighbourhood until his shell goes through his skull. Deadshot can keep his distance and still be dangerous.

4. Ezio Autidore da Firenze

The Sneak: Ezio Autidore
The Sneak: Ezio Autidore

Let's all agree that Assassin's Creed II was the best one in the series, making Ezio Autidore the best assassin. One of the things the Assassin's Creed games are well known for is the constant navigating through the city over rooftops jumping and climbing to the target for faster mobility. Ezio is no exception. Other abilities include being able to use a wide range of the classic weaponry, including the hidden blade, and his ability to move soundlessly and to stay out of sight. He's basically a next-level Italian ninja.

How he would take out Pearce:

Compared to the other assassins that have to get out their way to bypass Pearce's technology, Ezio has never used any GPS trackers or satellite technology, and can find his targets using his instincts. Although he might have some hard time engaging Pearce in a one-on-one fight, Ezio can sneak up on him and take him down with a swift stab with a hidden blade.

Do you agree? Are there assassins more capable than any of the ones I've listed? Don't hesitate to comment!
