I hated this movie with a passion! Sorry guys, I really needed to get that off my chest. Terminator Genisys the fifth and hopefully final installment in the long beloved Terminator franchise. I went into this movie with an open mind, despite already being spoiled from watching the trailers (viewer beware). I gotta say I was extremely disappointed, Genisys takes everything that was already established in previous Terminator films and turns it upside down. I can appreciate creative liberties when they're done the right way but unfortunately the already convoluted storyline gets even more confusing.
This movie tries hard to undo past mistakes by creating all new ones. I don't really see a bright future for this franchise if it keeps up in the direction that they're going in. There are many people who hated Terminator Salvation, I myself did not feel too strongly about the film but I would have rather seen where the film went continuing with that story arc. Besides, Christian Bale didn't make for a bad John Conor, Jason Clarke on the other hand was pretty bad. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of the guy, but he did not make me believe that he was the rugged, tired leader of the human resistance. The insanely cute Emilia Clarke played a younger tougher Sarah Conor. She played her part well enough, no complaints. Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, what can i say but i never really liked the guy as an actor due to the fact that he acts the same in every single role he's given. Arnold Schwarzenegger as the famous T-800 still makes the role work even in his old age.
There are some cool action scenes to be had with this film as with any other Terminator film. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to keep me interested. I'm honestly not looking forward to seeing anymore movies with the Terminator stamp on it. Terminator Genisys ultimately failed to deliver any answers to previous questions but instead left us with even more all while feeling like a parody of its former self. Let me know what you guys think of the movie, i would like to hear other opinions.
