Now [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) is only a year away, and well what can I say? Speculation is rampant. One of the things that I love to do is look at trailers the closer we get to the movie itself. I looked at both Ant-man and Terminator, and I had a little time to kill so I decided to watch BvS Dawn of Justice. It was awesome, but looking at it again there were a few things that popped out at me.

Before I get to that though, don't forget that Superman has a lot of heat on him for killing Zod, and also destroying Metropolis.

Yup, that moment.
Yup, that moment.

He's a controversial figure, as stated in the trailer. This pretty much confirms that BvS will follow the comics. What I mean is, in the comics Superman was portrayed as an unstoppable figure who if corrupted could go to the dark side. Obviously people would take a stand saying that this individual has too much power.

The events of Man of Steel pretty much sets this in to play. Even before the destruction, the government did not trust Superman choosing to take him into custody.

Naturally Batman being the person he is does not trust Superman, and decides to take him down. But there has to be some event leads to the eventual fight.

This man could be involved, or could catalyse it in some way...

The trailer also shows scenes were an event like that transpires.

Now this could be because of the events of Man of Steel, but again it could be directly related to something that happens in the movie.

Again Superman has a sad look in his eyes, don't the two cases directly correlate?

This would eventually lead into Batman's introduction....

Now you may be wondering what is this event?

Well I have a few ideas...

Superman Loses It

Superman the antagonist?
Superman the antagonist?

Very possible, and has happened in the comics multiple times. This is one of the main reasons why Batman faced Superman in the comics. It has happened before, and is a very likely possibility in the movie. Although it is less likely than option two, since Superman would lead the Justice League later, and DC executives wouldn't want their main guy portrayed as fragile or in a dark/antagonistic light.

Accidental Death?

Superman turned killer?
Superman turned killer?

Superman is unleashed upon the world. He wants to be a symbol for good. He sees a crime, and tries to stop it. Accidentally kills someone.
