So you hear a lot online about movie remakes and horror is up there when it comes to them, so today lets take a moment to look at some more classic movies that either have a remake or a sequel coming out in the next few years.

1. American Psycho

American Psycho came out in 2000 so it's been a good 15 years now and if your remaking a movie the longer time you wait for a remake the better i think. But with that being said, i have a hard time seeing a remake of this movie living up to the standards or the original for a few reasons, Main reason being, i don't think you could cast somebody better then Christian Bale to play in it, we can all agree that when we plays in a movie he plays the role perfect and rarely disappoints. Another reason and this is no offense to anyone but if you don't have an open mind the end of the movie could really mess you up as in what you think is going on and this younger generation may not be into the whole paying close attention to detail, then again maybe i'm wrong.

2. Creature From The Black Lagoon

Okay, OKAY! This movie came out in 1954 that's 61 years and i think that's enough time between remakes. I happen to think remaking it is a great idea, put a modern horror spin in a horror classic especially when you have the effects like we do now, they could make the monster look very bad ass. I'll go all in on this one and say i don't think there is much they could do wrong for a couple reasons like, it's been 61 years so there is room for a lot of changes to the story and with the wonderful people working in horror today with all the make-up and effects i think they could really knock this remake out of the park.

3. Gremlins

Okay so this movie is kind of horror right? well to some it is so i shall speak of it. Anyway, is this remake a good idea? Ehh, it has been 31 years since the original but i still don't think it's the best idea. The movie is a classic and honestly i don't see a remake doing very well, at least being any good, some hate this movie and others love it and to the people that love this movie it's a classic and there's no way you could remake this movie to be as good as it was. Sure they could use CGI and other effects to make the little nasty monsters look more real but in the end the result is the same, well in my mind anyway because obviously someone in Hollywood thought it was a good idea.

4. Friday The 13th

So these movies hold a very special place in my heart, i started watching these movies when i was 5 or 6 and ever since then i have loved slasher movies, now there was a remake in 2009 that i thought i was pretty good but that might just be me in love with the series and i agree that it needed to be remade because they had to stop with all the sequels i mean really Jason X? that was not there brightest idea, as bad ass as it was to see robo Jason kick major ass it just wasn't cutting it. BUT! i hear that they are actually remaking it this time from the start, you know where Jason's sweet and loving mother goes on a rampage at Camp Crystal lake and kill all but a couple counselors. In my mind that means they are gearing up to make more then one Friday the 13th and you know what? if they do i right it will be awesome, if they pick the right people for this movie i believe it good do the trick and give us what we've been craving.

5. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (LeatherFace)

I love The Texas Chainsaw movies, well most of them anyway and reading the story on this one it just doesn't add up to any of the other movies at all.

Prequel about teenage Leatherface who escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge.

Right there is the story for the new film titled leatherface and i can say i am all but impressed with it. In the original movie he lives at a house and he seemed to have been raised there and even in the newer movies where he was Thomas Hewitt he was found in the trash can and raised buy a family of crazy people so.... they must be trying to start there own story here and from the way it sounds i don't think i'll like it all that much and hey! maybe i'm wrong about the whole this but i just feel like this isn't the right direction for this series of films.
