Since Hugh Jackman is leaving his iconic role as Wolverine, I thought I would make a list of possible actors who could play the rage filled anti-hero. While no one might be as good as Jackman, I can suggest some actors who would be suited in the role, and I'll let you readers decide whether or not they'd be a good fit. I'm going to provide a name, a picture, and just a quick description since there are so many actors on the list, but I hope you enjoy it just as much!

1. Karl Urban

Judge Dredd
Judge Dredd

I think Urban comes up the most in conversations about actors who could play Wolverine. He can play dark and gritty roles like nobody's business, he has the look for Wolverine, and it wouldn't be too hard for him to get in shape for the role.

2. Scott Eastwood

Possibly Deathstroke
Possibly Deathstroke

If this man is anything like his father, which he is, then he could nail Wolverine. Everyone says that Clint Eastwood would be the best old man Logan, so wouldn't his son be the best regular Logan?

3. Charlie Hunnam

Jax
Jax

Charlie Hunnam has show that he can play a deadly anti-hero in Sons of Anarchy, and has the body to go with Wolverine. I believe that this could be the action role to redeem his reputation after mixed reviews from Pacific Rim.

4. Joel Edgerton

Ramses
Ramses

Edgerton hasn't done many memorable roles as of late, but he has the look and body of a Wolverine type. Just like Jackman, Wolverine could make him a household name.

5. Sam Worthington

Percius
Percius

Worthington has done many great action roles, including Percius in Clash of the Titans. He has the body and the dark tone of Wolverine, and definitely has the action experience to take on the role.

6. Scott Caan

Book em' Dano
Book em' Dano

Scott Caan is the ideal actor for Wolverine. He's only 5'5", so he appeals to Wolverine's height from the comics, he has a very muscular build, and could instantly turn into a Wolverine heart throb like Jackman did.

7. Jensen Ackles

Dean Winchester
Dean Winchester

Say what you will about TV actors, but Hugh Jackman was famous for a musical before he was Wolverine. Ackles has a semi-short muscular build, he's one of the best TV actors I've ever seen play a dark role, and he doesn't look too far off from Wolverine.

8. Norman Reedus

Daryl Dixon
Daryl Dixon

Some of you might argue that Reedus is too old for this role, but if Hugh Jackman can get into that kind of shape at 50, Reedus can do it at 46. He can play dark well, he already has a large fan-base from The Walking Dead, and he has the rugged good looks for an anti-hero.

9. Keanu Reeves

Neo, John Wick, everything badass
Neo, John Wick, everything badass

If Reeves is still in the shape he was in John Wick, then he could take the role right now. Even at 50, Reeves has the body, the look, and the acting skills to give us a good Wolverine.

10. Luke Evans

Dracula
Dracula

Luke Evans is one of those actors that's great in everything they're in. He has the look for Wolverine, he's great at playing dark, and it's never too hard to put on some muscle for a role, with the right trainer of course.

11. Gerard Butler

King Leonidas is my spirit animal
King Leonidas is my spirit animal

If Butler gets in the shape he was for 300, then I don't think anyone would have a hard time believing him in the role of Wolverine. He's dark and rugged, he has the body of a superhero, and he looks much like Wolverine.

12. Tyler Hoechlin

Teen Wolf guy
Teen Wolf guy

I think that Fox will look to give another actor a chance for a breakout role with Wolverine, and who better than Tyler Hoechlin? He's not very well known outside of the internet world, he has a very animalistic look to him, which is always welcome in a superhero named Wolverine, and he's not in bad shape for a TV actor. Let's see if we can get him into movie shape.

13. Aaron Paul

Jesse bitch
Jesse bitch

Let me do some explaining on this one. While Aaron Paul might seem like a bad choice at first, he has the perfect height for Wolverine (5'8", which would appeal to the comics), he can play dark well, and he's not far off from the Wolverine look. He's not in the right shape for the role, but he's only 35, so there's nothing keeping him from getting into superhero condition.

14. Thomas Jane

The Punisher
The Punisher

Yes he played The Punisher, but he was replaced by Ray Stevenson for the sequel, and the movies are no longer considered apart of the current Marvel universe, since Jon Bernthal will play The Punisher in Daredevil season two, and since Ray Stevenson plays a different character in Thor. As for Jane, he can play dark roles very well, he has the Wolverine look, and I don't think he would be opposed to getting into shape for a big role like this one.

15. Daniel Craig

James Bond
James Bond

While not everybody would think that James Bond would make a good Wolverine, I disagree. Craig has the look and stature to fit Wolverine (in my opinion), and even though he hasn't played a role quite like this one before, he's an amazing actor, and I think he could nail it.

16. Colin Farrell

The Wolverine look may or may not be there with Farrell, but I do know that he plays dark well in everything that he's in. If he got in Wolverine shape, that should be enough to allow him into the role.

17. Andrew Lincoln

Rick Grimes
Rick Grimes

You can't tell me that Andrew Lincoln doesn't look like Wolverine with some light facial hair. He has such an emotional range as an actor, at 41, it's not impossible for him to get into superhero shape, and practically every episode of The Walking Dead is dark enough to put on Lincoln's resume.

18. Alex O'Loughlin

Alex O'Loughlin would be perfect for a Wolverine shaped just like Hugh Jackman. He's the same height, he has the same kind of look as Jackman, and he's extremely in shape. I wouldn't be surprised if Alex could go in and start filming right away.

19. Jai Courtney

Captain Boomerang
Captain Boomerang

I was skeptical about adding Courtney to this list until I saw that picture. The Jai Courtney that's clean shaven and looks like a pretty boy would not make a good Wolverine. The kind of Jai Courtney that's in that picture could quite possibly the perfect Wolverine. As for his body, Arnold Schwarzenegger himself complemented him on the kind of shape he's in. That's pretty spectacular if you ask me.

20. Timothy Olyphant

The Hitman
The Hitman

I can understand if you don't think Wolverine when you see Timothy Olyphant, but I think he has potential in the role. He's a better action star than given credit for, the look isn't entirely off, and he got in pretty good shape for Hitman, so I think he could pull it off.

What did you think? Do you have an actor that could play Wolverine? Let me know in the comments!
