Channing Tatum has carved himself a throne in the Hollywood hall of cuties, but it turns out he was being adorably down-to-earth and charming over a decade before his now infamous Reddit AMA.
When a 21-year-old Channing found himself in the cutthroat world of catwalk fashion, the young Alabama native seemed wide eyed with wonder about being a model, but he already had bigger fish to fry.
In a newly excavated video dug up by Glamour magazine, a young Chan fresh to the fashion circuit is interviewed about his modeling career and aspirations for the future, and the slightly shy, self-depreciating charm that he oozes while talking about his dancing is bound to have any Magic Mike fan grinning knowingly.
Below are some of the best quotes from the interview presented alongside Channing's early modeling shots, because why not?
On dancing: "I started off as actually a dancer, was like doing choreographed stuff, videos and what not."
Ummm, I think you left out a very important sort of dancing, Chan...
Why he started modelling: "I wasn't making too much money [dancing], so I figured I would try something else. I was always like the jock in high school trying to gain weight and do sports, but I never thought I'd be doing this."
The worst thing about strutting the cat walk: " No carbs, no drinking, no nothing."
On his future: "I don't know if I'm a longterm model. I don't really think I've got what it takes like make a million bucks or whatever, but I would love to go into acting."
As laughable as some of the runway looks are, it's so great to see that Channing always wanted to become an actor, and that he achieved his dream after much strutting and shaking on both the catwalk and the strip club!
