Hold on to your knickers ladies and gentlemen. Prince Charming is coming for you.
The Hollywood Reporter announced yesterday that Disney has bought the rights to a live action movie staring the third best Disney Prince, Prince Charming. The first being Prince Eric and the second being Prince Naveen.
I don't have a problem with the movie being made, in fact I'm very happy about it. That being said, I have two minor concerns.
1. Matt Fogel, the screenwriter. He wrote Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.
Needless to say, I have my doubts and so should you. While I'm sure the story will be decent, I mean you really can't screw up Prince Charming. His story is laid out and Disney would never buy the rights to a sub-par story about one of the most beloved Disney Princes. I will try to reserve my judgement, but it will be hard.
Who will be Prince Charming? It's a tricky situation, we don't know how the screenwriter wrote the character. We don't know his age, his environment we know nothing. Will be dark and mysterious? Will he be light-hearted and aloof? Will he be athletic and dumb? Or maybe he'll be sensitive and strong?
So many questions, but sadly the live action version is still in the very early stages so there's a chance we won't see this till 2017. Till then lets all cross our fingers, it's not ruined by Channing Tatum or Hugh Jackmon. Ugh!
PS. Just in case you where wondering who the worst Disney Prince is, it's this dude.
