Are you guys ready for this one? I don't think you are, maybe you should take a seat? What's that? You're already sitting? Then maybe just lie on the floor and stare at the ceiling for this because your life is about to lose all meaning until this movie gets released. Okay, on the floor? Here we go:

Lucasfilm has announced earlier today the development of a Han Solo movie as part of their Star Wars Anthology movies. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directors of The Lego Movie and Jump Street movies, are attached to direct the film.

Commence nerdgasm.

The film is being written by father and son duo, Lawrence & Jon Kasdan (the original writer of the classic Star Wars and Indy films), and will focus on a young Han Solo and the events that led to him becoming a smuggler. Yes, you read that correctly. This is essentially Han Solo Begins! Oh by the way, did I mention the movie already has an expected release date of May 25, 2018?

Yes please!
Yes please!

Now, if any other director had the job, I would be worried, but I'm not. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are two of the most talented directors in the industry today, and I have 100% faith in their abilities to create an absolutely amazing film that will do the character of Han Solo justice! If you don't think they're capable, just remember that these are the same guys who defied the odds and turned The Lego and Jump Street movies into critically acclaimed films when so many other people doubted them from the beginning.

“This is the first film we’ve worked on that seems like a good idea to begin with. We promise to take risks, to give the audience a fresh experience, and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us. This is a dream come true for us. And not the kind of dream where you’re late for work and all your clothes are made of pudding, but the kind of dream where you get to make a film with some of the greatest characters ever, in a film franchise you’ve loved since before you can remember having dreams at all.” - Lord & Miller

Yeah, it's safe to say these guys are excited! Lord & Miller

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is scheduled to be released on December 17th.

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is scheduled for December 16th, 2016

And Star Wars Episode VIII is scheduled for May 26th, 2017, meaning that we'll have more than enough Star Wars goodness to pass the time with as we brace ourselves for Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo (unofficial title).

But who can fill Harrison Ford's shoes? I can definitely think on one actor who could absolutely nail the role!

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

The Force Is Strong Indeed

Now before you dismiss this idea, just remember than Han wasn't always a nice guy. Before he met Luke and Obi-Wan, he was selfish, smug and only did things for his own financial gain. He was a convict and a smuggler, a damn good one. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau not only looks like he could be a younger Han Solo, but he's got the acting chops to do it. His role of Jaime Lannister has evolved so much over the years, that we all pretty much overlook the fact that he pushed a little boy out the window. I think it's safe to say that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is no stranger to playing the anti-hero.

This is just my opinion though. I know many people will suggest Chris Pratt or another Hollywood A-Lister for the role, but I couldn't think of anyone better that could nail such an important role.
