Another year, another Comic-Con.
This week marks the annual San Diego Comic-Con: the event that is riddled with comics, movie, TV, and anything dealing with pop culture. Over the years Comic-Con has been a place where studios can discuss and market the most anticipated blockbusters hitting theaters. This years, attendees will get a chance to get first looks at some major hits; from this year's [The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2](tag:449866) and [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](tag:711158), to 2016 movies like [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) and [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267). So with the event just days, you can't help but wonder just what kind of content will be shown at the annual event.
Could we see new material from DC? Or perhaps Fox will reveal something new with the X-Men franchise. Plus let's not forget what some of the hit TV shows will be featuring at the convention. Needless to say there are plenty of things to expect from Comic-Con, and while this is just speculation, here are 5 things I would like to see announced at Comic-Con.
Deadpool Teaser Trailer Hits
While X-Men fans will be hitting the theater to see X-Men: Apocalypse, next year will also feature the Merc with the Mouth: Deadpool. Deadpool will be hitting the scene on February 12 2016; and the movie has already gotten some great buzz with its screenshots and its sheer dedication to the character. So it only makes sense for this spin-off to make an appearance at Comic-Con. While it would not be shocking for Deadpool to actually show up at the panel, what I would like to see is the first trailer to this superhero film appear not just at the event, but online as well. This would be a perfect opportunity to release the teaser trailer of Deadpool, and it would also be a treat to those who cannot attend this year's Comic-Con. If the trailer does not pop up online this week, then it is likely that the preview of Deadpool will appear sometime soon; perhaps in the next couple of months. Still I hopeful that first look at the Merc with the Mouth's solo film appears this week.
New characters for Marvel's Agents of SHIELD
We know that Marvel Studios will not be making an appearance at this year's Comic-Con, but Marvel Television will be there to represent the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has been confirmed that Marvel's [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](tag:722469) will be a part of the panel ,and I am sure that there will be plenty of surprises from the series during its time at Comic-Con. It has already been confirmed that season 3 will feature the Secret Warriors. So I would not be surprised to see some new characters revealed during Agents of SHIELD's time in the Hall. Last year the series featured a video that stated that Mockingbird would show up in Season 2, and sure enough she did. So if there are any new characters for the upcoming season, now might be a good time to start teasing them. Until Agents of SHIELD takes the stage, I should get back to finishing watching season 2 of the Marvel series.
Update for Daredevil Season 2
[Daredevil (Netflix)](tag:1168702) certainly made an impact for Marvel when the series debuted. The show stayed true the ideas behind the character while bringing something new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So I could only hope that the Man Without Fear will have a segment at The Marvel Television Panel. With updates for the show, like the Punisher making an appearance, new set photos and the casting Elodie Yung as Elektra, I cannot see a major update being revealed at Comic-Con. Yet even though the show will have a bit part to play at Marvel's panels, I still hope that we will get some new information on season 2 to Daredevil; not to mention the other series that make up The Defenders.
Justice League Members Revealed
WB has a lot to do at this year's Comic-Con. With [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) coming out next spring, you can be sure that the anticipated blockbuster will have a major part to play at the convention. Plus lets not forget Suicide Squad which hit theaters next summer. However I cannot help but look ahead for the DC Cinematic Universe and how WB could take this year to reveal something big from their upcoming movies. One thing DC could do is reveal new information on the upcoming Justice League films. We know that Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman will be appearing in the two part blockbuster; but what would be great to see is the filmmakers showing the other members of the League at Comic-Con. Perhaps we could an image of Ezra Miller as the Flash, or maybe the a shot of Ray Fisher as Cyborg. Then again maybe we could discover just who be donning the power ring as WB could reveal who is playing Green Lantern. It is hard to say whether or not WB will actually update Justice League, but one could always hope that the studios takes this opportunity to reveal their Cinematic Universe.
WB announces Batman/Superman Solo Films
When WB announced their lineup of DC films, there were rumors suggesting that Batman and Superman would also be getting their own solo films. Recently there have been reports speculating that Batman himself,Ben Affleck, will be direct this untitled Batman project; though that has yet to be determined. However perhaps we will finally get an update about either a Batman or Superman solo film this week at Comic-Con. Much like what WB did in 2013 when they announced Batman v Superman, maybe at the end of the panel the studio announces solo films for Batman and Superman. We may not get a lot details on these projects, but it would ease some speculation knowing that solo films for The Dark Knight or the Man of Steel are coming to theaters. Not only would it be good to know that these films are in the works but, just like Batman v Superman, this announcement would be something that will have fans talking for weeks.
Keep in mind that all of this is speculation and it is possible that none of these points will come true. Still this fan cannot help but hope that the studios will take this opportunity to reveal some juicy content at the annual event. Whatever may be revealed this year, be it something from Batman v Superman or Marvel's The Defenders, I can only hope that this year's Comic-Con will feature something that fans will not forget.
