Tina Fey and Amy Poehler - collaborators, Saturday Night Live alums and B.F.F.s - play siblings in the upcoming Universal Pictures comedy, Sisters.
Written by Paula Pell and directed by Jason Moore, Sisters is the story of two siblings who, upon learning that their parents are selling the family house, decide to throw one final party in the dwelling.
In addition to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Sisters also stars Ike Barinholtz, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, John Leguizamo, Kate McKinnon, John Cena and James Brolin.
Tina Fey’s company, Little Stranger, produced Sisters.
The movie was originally titled, The Nest.
Sisters is rated “R.” It debuts in theaters December 18th.
Tina Fey is currently writing and producing the second season of the Netflix comedy, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
She also appears in the upcoming comedy, Fun House, which is slated for release next year.
Amy Poehler will appear in The House, a comedy starring Will Ferrell about a man who starts an illegal casino in his house after spending his daughter’s college fund. The House is set for release next year.
A Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Saturday Night Live action figure set will be released in September. Limited supplies of 2,400 sets were made in conjunction with San Diego Comic-Con as an event exclusive. They were produced by Entertainment Earth.
The exclusive collection has sold out but a non-exclusive set is coming soon.
