Disney Princesses sure find a way to hog the lime light about 90% of the time, but don't be forgetting those other beautiful non-Disney princesses out there. These old school animations featuring those lovely Princesses fed even the most most wild of imaginations.

Fans of these films have woven their talent with their passion for these nostalgic films into stunning results. This time traveling post will take you back to those films that may once have been your favorites growing up and you won't be needing a DeLorean to travel!

1. Thumbelina

I loved Thumbelina growing up, the story of the most teeniest Princess who is no bigger than a thumb. Remember all the drama of when she gets taken away? No princess is complete without a treacherous path along the way to true love. The Fairy Prince was such a cutie too, taking it on himself to search for the lost princess. Aw, this film really gave me all the feels. This little one has inspired some really lovely fan art too.

This chalk tool experiment in Photoshop by Deviant Artist StressedJenny turned out so cosy and lovely. Thumbelina really looks content in her walnut shell. And, just check out the detail of those colorful forget-me-nots!

Oh my, just take a look at the absolutely beautiful all grown up Thumbelina! Deviantartists are so creative and talented. This piece was created using pencil, markers, Paint Tool Sai and photoshop, no wonder it looks so fantastic. I would not even know where to begin creating something like this! Nice work Daekazu.

2. Odette, The Swan Princess

No evil sorcerer was able to get in the way of Princess Odette and her true love. Even being turned into a swan could not stop this girl find happiness with her childhood friend, Prince Derek.

Deviant Artist Lyvyan assembled this lovely portrait of the two love birds using Photoshop. It really is like one of those Hollywood moments looking at this picture, half expecting true love's kiss to happen.

The amount of drama oozing out of this image is wholeheartedly intense. The artist Alice Chan has created a really original and beautiful piece of art work that could almost be a photo.

3. Princess Irene, The Princess and the Goblin

Aw, I have so many nostalgic and sweet memories of watching this. In this number, the beautiful singing princess fights that horrible evil Goblin with her friend. Their only weapons are kindness, singing, the miracle of love and don't be forgetting that magical shimmering thread. It was a battle of kindness and will power to bring peace to the land.

Other artists have been touched by the kind hearted princess too, Deviant Artist Viasacra has really captured the kindness and loveliness of the Princess Irene. I love the slight anime twist on this one too.

Sarumanka, has really managed to capture the passion between the two lovers here, and check out the little dove in the background bringing gifts along for the occasion too.

4. Princess Fiona

I loved Princess Fiona the strong, brave Princess filled with kindness. Even a curse could not stop her finding love and happiness. What a babe!

This hilarious mash-up actually works pretty damn well, maybe the Louvre Museum should give their collection some updating and display this piece along side the original. Somehow, I do not think this will happen. Someone start a petition already! Nice work Andrewss7.

This ogre just got sexy and stole Ariel's hair along the way and raided a cave girl's wardrobe. I think Shrek would fall back unconscious into his swamp if he saw Princess Fiona looking so foxy! Hats off to you Toonamix.

Those Deviant artists really are a talented bunch! Time to dig out those old school tapes and re-watch these classics.
