We just can't get enough of Disney, whether it's the theme parks, the animated classics, or even the live-action films. We enjoy the furry and scaly friends, the debonair princes, and the sweet, yet strong princesses.
In light of the new live-action Prince Charming's brother flick that is in the works, I feel like there are still plenty of Disney princesses that need their own live-action films. Especially since we have a variety of incredibly talented actresses in the industry that would really bring these characters to life!
1. Helena Barlow as Merida from Brave
Merida is a 16-year-old boisterous tomboy with energy for days. Therefore, casting age-appropriate Helena Barlow would be a fabulous pick! She has the flowing red hair and has experience playing Rose Weasley in the final Harry Potter film.
All she needs are a few archery lessons and she's set, folks.
2. Chloë Grace Moretz as Elsa from Frozen
Elsa may have become queen at the young age of 21, but don't be fooled. She is wise beyond her years and has incredible leadership skills.
Chloë Grace Moretz may be a few years shy of being 21, but she has always seemed so mature for her age. If you haven't seen her in Kick-Ass, then you're missing out. That girl could hold her own at the age of 13. She is so sure of herself and so strong, but she could also play the vulnerability and fear that Elsa possesses when hiding her magic.
3. Zendaya Maree Stoermer Colemanas Tiana from The Princess and the Frog
Tiana is a 19-year-old African American girl living in New Orleans with the dream of one day opening her own restaurant. She is famous for her appetizing beignets.
Known mainly as Zendaya, she is a multi-talented actress, singer, dancer who first got her start on the Disney Channel. She is a highly ambitious girl who has no problem sticking up for herself, as we saw when Giuliana Rancic made some terribly ignorant remarks about her hairstyles.
4. Sarah Kazemy as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin
Jasmine is a 15-year-old girl who has been given everything she has ever wanted in her life (she has a pet tiger, remember?!). She wishes to explore life beyond the borders of her father's kingdom and marry a sweet street rat she bumps into while sneaking away from home.
I had the most difficult time finding famous young Arab actresses, so I personally would love to go with an unknown. However, if I had to choose somebody, I suppose the closest person would be Persian-Moroccan French actress Sarah Kazemy from Circumstance. Not only is she stunning, she is a phenomenal actress. The only issue I'm having is that she's 28-years-old, but I can't even think of one young Arab actress!
5. Dove Cameron as Ariel from The Little Mermaid
Ariel is a 16-year-old with a yearning for life beyond the sea. As much as she is stubborn, she is also a sweetheart and quite the romantic.
I know this one has supposedly been in the works since 2011, but since they're getting no head start on it, I guess I can help them out a little with casting the lead. Dove Cameron is an actress that is as sweet as sugar. She has the innocence and excitement that Ariel possesses. Plus, she'll look just darling with that long, flowing mane of red hair.
Hey Disney. Just take my money! I would see any of these films. And I know all of these actresses would perform a phenomenal job in these roles.
While you're at it, hire me as a writer and I'll even create the entire script for you and surely do a kick-ass job. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?
