So as you may already know, the critic reviews are out for Marvel’s upcoming microscopic movie. A lot of people are posting with headlines like “Ant Man Gets Mixed Reviews” and “Not Even Paul Rudd Could Win Over Every Critic.” Here is why you shouldn’t worry…

Let’s be honest, the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is made for the fans, not for the critics. Movie critics have always had “mixed reviews” about movies in the Marvel universe.

Below is a list of the MCU movies, in order with their critic ratings. First listed are the Rotten Tomatoes ratings, done on a percentage scale. Anything above 60% is dubbed “fresh”. Rotten Tomatoes takes the average score and lists it with each movie on their website. Listed second are the Metacritic Ratings, going anywhere from 0 to 100. Metacritic is a website that aggregates reviews from popular critics and provides users with an average score, seen below.

Iron Man (2008) 94% 79

The Incredible Hulk (2008) 67% 61

Iron Man 2 (2010) 72% 57

Thor (2011) 77% 57

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) 79% 66

The Avengers (2012) 92% 69

Iron Man 3 (2013) 79% 62

Thor: The Dark World (2013) 65% 54

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014 ) 89% 70

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) 91% 76

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) 74% 66

Ant Man (2015) 65% 65

So there you have it. Don’t let the headlines scare you. This movie is not going to ruin the cinematic universe; the movie is not going to bomb. In fact, according to these numbers, this movie is going to be better than five of the previous movies.

The reality of the situation is, if you love movies about super heroes, then you are going to love Ant Man.
