Wesley Snipes hasn't been in a lot of big things as of recent, but that doesn't mean he ever stopped being the center of attention! It's hard to leave the spotlight when your famously known for being the star of one of Marvel's good pre-MCU films. Before RDJ was Tony Stark, before Hugh Jackman was Wolverine, Wesley Snipes was Blade!

Snipes' run as the vampire hunter with a suave haircut was so spot on, that no one else has been a live-action Blade since! With Marvel finally getting (most of) their heroes together in one unified universe, many fans have been waiting for Blade to return, hopefully with Snipes behind the reigns yet again.

While Marvel has yet to confirm anything about the vampire-human hybrid's return to the big screen, it seems that Wesley Snipes may have just revealed their plans. While talking to Deadline about his new NBC show The Player, the conversation obviously went towards a potential Blade sequel. Surprisingly, Snipes let loose some potentially massive information about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his possible return as Blade.

"The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air."

So it looks like he and Marvel have been talking about a potential Blade 4. But that's not surprising. It's already known that Snipes wants to don the Blade mantle yet again, and actors talking to studios about playing characters isn't something to get too excited about. Even him saying that another Blade is "still up in the air" is nothing big yet. Not until Marvel themselves tell us how up in the air it is at least.

What's incredibly surprising (and definitely worth getting ecstatic over) is Snipes' response when he's asked of he'll be joining the larger MCU in any way.

"That’s a possibility too. I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and it'd be nice to be a part of the family again. But if we don’t do a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful."

So according to Snipes, he'll likely be joining the MCU, with or without Blade! Now again, this is all rumors and speculation until Marvel themselves talk, but Wesley seems pretty confident that he's in with Marvel. That and the fact that he and Marvel are apparently working together on characters and concepts means that Marvel potentially trusts him! Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Snipes portray a different character in the MCU, if Blade doesn't work out.

But if Marvel does choose to bring on Snipes as some other comic book character, who could he be? We've only ever envisioned Welsey Snipes as Blade, it's hard to imagine him as anyone else. It's like trying to imagine anyone other than J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, it's just impossible (for me anyway)! But if Marvel is looking to hire Snipes as any of their other cool comic characters, I have some pretty good ideas of just who the former vampire hunter could be. Marvel, if you're reading this, grab a pen.

Falcon (Mark II)!

Yes, yes I know. The Marvel Cinematic Universe already has a Falcon, and Anthony Mackie is doing an awesome job as the aviary Avenger! So this new casting is only if certain future MCU rumors turn out to be true. See, according to the land of wherever the heck insane theories are born, Steve Rogers is going to hand over the Captain America mantle fairly soon, presumably after [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409).

While some rumors state it'll be James 'Bucky' Buchanan, Cap's war buddy, that gets to take over the job, some have stated that Falcon, having taken over the mantle of Captain America in the comics, will do the same on-screen. I'm still not convinced by these rumors, but it's very possible. If it did happen, the MCU would be in need of a new Falcon, and Snipes could definitely play the part!

I'd say that maybe Snipes could be a Falcon with a more traditional costume, one closer to the comic iteration....but no one wants to see Wesley Snipes dressed up like that. No one wants to see anyone dressed like that.

Moon Knight!

Moon Knight, another character that fans have been wanting to see join the MCU since it started! The mysterious anti-hero known humorously as "Marvel's Batman" has such a cool and easily adaptable story! Marc Spector was resurrected Khonshu, the Egyptian Lunar-God of Vengeance and Justice. As Moon Knight, Spector serves as an avatar for Khonshu, protecting the innocent and spreading vengeance among the unjust! So yeah, he's basically a strange but epic mix of Batman, Ghost Rider, and Blade. He's Bat Blade-Rider Man!

Why choose when you could be ALL THE HEROES?!
Why choose when you could be ALL THE HEROES?!

Snipes could easily bring this character, preferably in a Netflix series, so that he doesn't have to limit how anti-hero he can get. Plus, he could join his fellow Netflix chum Daredevil and the Punisher to form a trio of brutal awesomeness! How excited am I for something that's not even confirmed? The answer is immensely.

The Revenant!

Ezekiel Wright, a former magician's assistant framed for a crime he didn't commit, leaves his old life behind and becomes the costumed vigilante known as The Revenant! Though he doesn't possess any powers, Ezekiel uses a mix of magic tricks, gadgets and good old-fashioned fist fightin' to fight villains.

Wright is a 1930's era superhero, but if Wesley Snipes were to portray him, they could easily bring him up a few decades. Or better yet, keep him in that time and have him show up on [Marvel's Agent Carter](tag:1119765)! That show is going to need some cool superheroes for it's second season, what with the villains Peggy Carter is sure to encounter during it.

Well those are my non-Blade picks for Wesley Snipes! Him playing any one of these characters would be cool, but I honestly have to say that I hope Marvel brings him back for another shot at Blade. Having the iconic vampire hunter join the MCU could open up so many possibilities!

Thanks For Reading!
