A part of our childhoods, Walt Disney's first movie that wasn't a short film. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a wonderful movie with equally wonderful animation.

Many may say the main character, Snow White herself, is boring and sometimes quite stupid. But for others, the fact that a fourteen year old girl (fact confirmed by Disney Studios) remains that kind even after being forced to live like a servant by her evil stepmother is quite the achivement and considering the time where her story takes place, and the time when she was created, it could have gone much worse and she should have given the credit for it.

As for the story, it changed very little from the original by the Grimm Brothers. The biggest changes were that fact that the Evil Queen only made one try to kill Snow White and the bigger complexity of the dwarfs.

The dwarfs are given very little ''screen time'' in the book and we don't even know their names. They are just some tiny and ugly guys who work god knows where, that allow Snow White to live with them and save her a few times.

However, In the movie, they got the names Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey and each one of the has distinct personalities and appearances. One of the reasons Snow White and the audience guess so easily who is who. The clothes, the body language, voice (or even lack of it) and the interactions with eachoder makes them so distinguishable and funny to watch and made the story even more memorable.

But it's not only characters that make this movie great. The animation itself is probably the biggest thing. Everything in that movie was new at the time and developed by Walt Disney himself. For years he and his team worked day and night to make the story come to life. The techniques they used for the cartoons were not enough for the details they had in mind so they had to invent something different.

The result was what we see today and it's classic that just won't be forgotten.
