WARNING: Possible spoilers for the comic series of The Walking Dead ahead. Proceed with caution.
First, if you haven't seen The Walking Dead Season 6 trailer yet WHAT IN THE WALKER GUTS ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? Secondly, you check it out below:
Okay, now that you're hopefully caught up, and out of breath from all that zombified goodness, let's take a look at it, bite by walker bite, peppered with some wild predictions from yours truly.
Run, Rick! Run!
Quotes from "Clear," Season 3, Episode 12.
Rick: "We both started out in the same place."
Rick: "You can come back from this. I know you can."
Morgan: "Good people, they always die."
Morgan (season 6?): "I'm a killer, Rick. And you are too."
Either Rick is running from something, to something, or just out getting some wicked cardio. The scar on the bridge of his nose doesn't have a bandage on it anymore (the screenshot above shows some sunlight glistening off his shnoz), so it might be a couple of episodes in. I haven't a clue what he could be going after or running from, so maybe he just needed a moment to run off some steam.
Alexandria in ruins
Was this sign always like this? Seems like this might be post walker-infest Alexandria, or after a battle with the wolves.
Mayor Deanna done gone crazy
Wondering how she took her husband's untimely demise? That right there should give you some insight. Throughout the entire trailer, she seems to be all Team Rick all of a sudden. It's good to have friends in high places (see "new alliances" below)! And then there's this:
"If you are scared, you should keep an eye on her." Maggie and Deanna had a special little bond last season, so it looks like Glenn is asking her to keep an eye on her, to make sure she doesn't start calling her dead husband on the phone.
Paul Monroe a.k.a "Jesus"
Long story short, this guy is pretty big in the comics. You can check out more info on Paul Monroe over HERE.
Let's just say (even thought the comics and the series don't exactly mirror one another) that Paul is there around the time a certain condom buying, muscle car loving, preacher's daughter marrying kid is killed in the comic timeline.
Something bad bad bad happened to make her walk through the gate like that. Maybe her and Carl got attacked by some Wolves? Carl still has time to lose that eye...
Seems like the lines are being drawn in Alexandria. Right after a kid yells. "Rick is dangerous!" we see Rick and Deanna side by side. Maybe Jessie and him aren't going to be The Big Thing this season after all...?
Old alliances strained
This part has me worried more than Rick running down the road for the first 14 seconds. Rick and Daryl? Having issues? Say it isn't so! This can't end well. If they end up making up later in the season, it seems that every time something good happens, something REALLY bad happens right after (Noah...NOOOO!). Whatever comes of this (hopefully temporary) rift in these guys' bromance, let it be quick and let it end with them both alive.
"I know Rick. I can stop him. We have to."
Ahhhhh crap. This happy reunion didn't stay happy too long. What does Morgan think he can do to stop Rick? The parallels between these two guys are kind of scary. Both have lost their wives. Morgan lost his son, but Rick still has his (and why couldn't they have at least shown a little clip of Li'l Asskicker in the trailer? I'm worried about her!). Both have gone through some crazy crazy times. Seeing that nobody is safe on this show, it makes you wonder...
The Wolves are pricks!
These guys are truly messed up in the head, if they're the ones who set the walker horde loose on the town. Judging from the semi trailers full of walkers, I'm guessing they're behind this and all the deaths of the Alexandrians throughout the trailer.
"If you've chosen this life...
...you will die."
This is my big screw-you-for-saying-this prediction:
Rick is going to die sometime this season. The way they're playing Morgan to be the peace keeper and with this statement, well, I think it means something big, like a shift in leadership. Either that, or Rick shoots him for talking back. Sure, Rick could come back from Crazyville, but he's been going nuttier each season. Not talking on the phone with his dead wife crazy, but kill everyone he sees crazy. How could the producers possibly bring him back from that?
This scene right here
It takes about a full second, but I play-pause-play-paused it about a dozen times before I could stop it right as the axe come down. It looks like Johnny Appleseed is chopping off the dude's arm! Either someone got bit and they're trying to save them, or a Wolf is loose, and they're doing their crazy thing again. Just thought it was interesting.
The birth of a new mixed drink:
The Flaming Walker!
Getting REALLY sick of your crap, Wolves.
Any doubts you had about the walkers storming the town? They're herrrre!
And of course, we gotta have our Daryl-centric episodes!
"I ain't who you think I am."
Who does the guy think Daryl is, Rick the Leader? Whatever's going on in this scene, I cannot WAIT to see Daryl whup some Wolf ass! But, wait! The guy with the gun...why is he bargaining with Daryl? Is that a new group of survivors possibly? Maybe the famous group that got exiled from Alexandria? I thought the Wolves were the exiles, but who knows, maybe these are them, and maybe they ain't so half bad. They don't kill Daryl on sight, right? Either way, Daryl seems to escape, and even confront two of the women standing behind Dude With A Gun.
This one I'm sure a lot of you might like.
Where in heaven is Father Gabriel? The little rat seems to be completely absent from the trailer. You may remember his recent arrest for a DUI, but is that a reason to take him off the show? It just might be!
*edit* I see I missed Gabe during Deanna's blood bath scene. Sorry! BUT--it looks like it might be a scene from episode 1 of the season, seeing how the blood is still kinda gooey, so my theory still stands...they could kill friar assbutt off, and it could happen soon!
I don't know about you, but that trailer was 4 minutes of kick me in the pants AWESOME!
