In the year 2110, a nuclear war began. By accident it was claimed. Whether or not there was any truth to this claim, no one will ever know. It’s been five years since the war, and in that time, the few pockets of survivors have attempted to return to a new normal. Somehow, five years ago, somebody got mad at somebody else over something, and within a matter of hours, the population of the United States was reduced to a few thousand at best, and the entire Eastern Seaboard had been rendered uninhabitable for the next hundred thousand years. Some groups of survivors emerged from underground shelters unscathed, but millions were wiped out in droves. Most of these survivors moved to what was formerly the American Southwest. Upon reaching this destination, the survivors have split into five major factions, and have begun squabbling like children over every foot of ground they could lay claim to. I realized that without a good team at my back, I wouldn't make it through this alone. So here are my top post-apocalyptic survival squad choices.

War Machine

You can't tell me that an Iron Man suit wouldn't be a welcome addition to your survival team, especially one as heavily armed as this monster. I've listed its vast weapon systems in a previous article so I will not recap, but suffice it to say that there are few if any who would be willing or even dare I say able to challenge War Machine in a post-apocalyptic scenario. Rhodey's strategic mind would also be extremely valuable.

Master Chief

Like War Machine, the Chief would have little to no competition in a post-apocalyptic era and thus would have free reign of the entire wasteland that remained. His MJOLNIR armor, much like War Machine's suit, is self-sufficient and virtually indestructible. Also, as a genetically enhanced super-soldier, the Chief's fighting skills are beyond compare.

Samus

This girl's got it all. Weapons, brains, looks, and a suit of armor that would make Tony Stark green with envy. Samus would be extremely useful as the group's scavenger and reconnaissance leader. Her Morph Ball mode would be especially useful for getting in among wreckage in attempts to salvage food and equipment.

Well, that's my team! The apocalypse is coming...WILL YOU SURVIVE?!
