Yesterday, our minds were blown when the new trailer for [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) was released through Comic-Con (too bad I couldn't go). Whether we were screaming at the top of our lungs, shaking our fists in uncontrollable "Hurray!", or just sat there with a smile on our face, one thing is for certain: our hearts were pumpin' as the trailer progressed.
However, there was one thing that I noticed about the trailer that may have just ruined the movie! Don't get me wrong, I loved the trailer, and I'm still excited for Batman V Superman, but there's still that one problem...
Did the trailer just explain the whole story?
If you are good at analyzing movies, then you may agree with me that the trailer may have explained the story a little too much, or "pre-blown" our minds, as it should be said. For example, we now know the details of how the movie will begin: Superman presents himself to a committee in Congress to seek their approval of him, and to take responsibility for his actions in Metropolis (during Man of Steel). Then we know (judging by the Senator's dialogue) that the committee doesn't approve of Superman. Therefore, the world doesn't change it's anti-alien agenda either. Also, we now know why Batman has some sort of grudge against Superman (which would have actually been a good thing to keep a secret for when we all see the movie), and that it in some way causes him to fight Superman (possibly to the death, considering his "we must destroy him" line). Then there's the whole Kryptonite business that Batman will most likely get into, Wonder Woman (apparently) intervening Batman and Superman's battle, and that one of the Robins is dead (which may be a possible root for Bruce's anger at Superman; because if it were Jason Todd, then Bruce may feel he has failed twice, with Jason and his leveled building), judging by the Joker writing on the suit.
Based on this, it sure seems like the movie was just completely revealed right? After all, we know many details about the movie now. As much as it seems that way, there is still hope.
My main (and kind-of only) reason as to how the movie wasn't ruined via this trailer is that we still don't know how the conflict will be resolved. Even if Batman and Superman (and I assume Wonder Woman, since it looks like she's somewhere in the fight) decided to concede the fight, shake hands and sing Kumbaya, the world still isn't on Superman's side. Also, even if Superman revealed to the world what kind of person Lex Luthor really was, it would still be a little dry and sloppy to write the story that they just trust him from that point on. (I have my theory how, which you can read here.) Also, we don't actually know what would bring Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman together to actually become a team (*cough* Justice League) and fight evil side-by-side... -by-side.
While the trailer didn't give away everything about the movie, it still may have pre-blown our minds a little too much. Hopefully, Batman vs Superman turns out to be way better that we even expect it to be!
If you don't mind the possibility of your mind being pre-blown, here's the trailer itself. (I waited until the end so you could judge if you wanted to potentially pre-blow your mind)
So what do you think? Did the trailer pre-blow our minds a little too much? Be sure to post it in the comments below!
