Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Hello Supernatural fanatics!
So apparently I ticked off some folks with my last article:
I mean, I got called stupid!
But this nice lady was one of the few to stick up for me-
But that's all in the past. Now, I want to talk about The Darkness itself, and everything that's gonna go down in Season 11, starting October 11!
Who will play The Darkness?
Is The Darkness going to be what we saw in the season 10 finale, a big ole black smokestorm? Or are they going to have someone play the role? I learned my lesson from the article above not to try and pick CHRISTOPHER who would play WALKEN it. Any time that any goodie or baddie from the Bible or mythology or wherever is portrayed on the show, it takes over a human meatsack. So why not pick a person to play this role? If they do pick someone, it's gonna be GOOD! You can bet your soul on it.
Biblical history of The Darkness
Quoting Moses himself:
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
And what Death told us:
"Before there was light, before there was God and the archangels, there wasn't nothing. There was the Darkness, a horribly destructive, amoral force that was beaten back by God and his archangels in a terrible war. God locked the Darkness away where it could do no harm, and he created a Mark that would serve as both lock and key, which he entrusted to his most valued Lieutenant, Lucifer. But the Mark began to assert its own will, revealed itself as a curse, and began to corrupt. Lucifer became jealous of man. God banished Lucifer to Hell. Lucifer passed the Mark to Cain, who passed the Mark to you, the proverbial finger in the dike."
Supernatural, like Once Upon a Time, has always had an interesting way of twisting all the stories we know around a bit. Looks like they're going to tackle Genesis the same way.
So this Darkness is baaaad bad news. So bad, that even God couldn't defeat it with his angels. He just locked it away with the mark. That was the main reason I think we're going to see God, finally, in season 11. It's going to take everybody teaming up to defeat it this time. Maybe even...
Lucifer! He was the original keeper of the mark, so who knows? Maybe both he and his dad will make an appearance and attempt to bring it down. And if Lucifer gets out of the cage, so could this guy maybe?
The Death of Death
The rumors are wild right now about how they'll play this one through. Did Dean actually kill the unkillable Death? Will Dean become the new Death? After his battle with his Deanmon-ness, you'd think they would give him a break. Plus, in the season 6 episode, Appointment in Samarra, Dean played Death for 24 hours, and almost couldn't take the heat.
Or, since Death is apparently dead, will nobody die, ever again? Or at least until the first episode is up, when the boys figure out how to bring Death back from the dead? Phew.
If that first line is true, and Cas chews Crowley up and spits him out, maybe the King of Hell won't be able to die just yet?
Hints from Comic Con
Carver said some fan favorites will return, but in surprising ways. Another reason I thought maybe, just MAYBE, Jeffery Dean Morgan would be God, and not Chuck (CALM DOWN, PEOPLE!).
Crowley says he's "pretty dead" and that it's been an amazing journey. Who knows if he was kidding, or maybe he's truly going to bite it this time, unlike last time in season 6-
Well that was fun! Can't wait to see how much love this generates on the tweetverse!
I'll just leave this here-
