Horror movie fans were initially apprehensive when Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead remake dropped in 2013. Could anything begin to do justice to Ash and his deadites?

Yes, yes it could. It was totally different from the original Sam Raimi/Bruce Campbell movies, paying loving homage while serving up its own brand of more modern horror - and surely one of the greatest and bloodiest endings to a horror movie ever?

Now, this may just be some sweet, sweet rumor-mongering on behalf of Bloody Disgusting, but certain unidentified clues from San Diego Comic-Con have led them to believe that Evil Dead 2 is still a very viable possibility:

"But now that idea seems to bear more fruit as it’s being quoted by multiple publications out of the San Diego Comic-Con that the success of the 2013 remake/reboot has kept this idea alive and is still being entertained as a serious option... there’s a very good chance that Mia’s story hasn’t come to an end."

Yes! More of this, please!

Here's a tasty reminder of what Alvarez has had planned for his potential Evil Dead 2, including rumored Mia-Ash team-ups and more!

"For the next movie I want to continue the story laid out by my first film. I just don’t want to get five new kids and throw them into the cabin. Who knows? Maybe Jane [Levy, who played Mia] and Ash [played by Bruce Campbell] will meet up? Maybe Jane will be attacked in the woods and die at the beginning of the second one. We’re still in the very early stages of talking about it. I want to continue to add to the mythology and make my own movie and revere the films that have come before it."

I'm all for a Fede Alvarez Evil Dead 2... what do you guys think?
