Comic book fans are in for a big treat as the latest full-length trailer for Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was released at the San Diego Comic-Con. No more looking at pictures from the filming location as the trailer gives us everything that we should expect from the movie when it comes out. This version features a lot more than the previous trailers have shown us before and it got a lot of fans excited about the upcoming movie.
Batman V Superman is no stranger to Comic-Con. It all started a couple of years ago, when Zack Snyder first called on Harry Lennix on stage to read a passage from the comic book where he would get inspiration for his new Superman film. As it turns out the passage was from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns which was about the conflict between Superman and Batman. This reveal was one of the biggest crowd reactions ever at the Hall H. A year after that, Snyder comes to the stage and shows us Wonder Woman along with a clip of Batman looking menacing in his suit of armor staring up in the rain as Superman floats above him. This year, all of that plus more was shown to the fans at comic con and online as the trailer was released.
The new trailer shows us that Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) was in Metropolis when Superman and Zod were duking it out. He tries to run towards the wreckage and we see him protecting a little girl from the wreckage that the Man of Steel has brought. This first hand experience is what motivates him to face off against Superman (Henry Cavill), leading to that moment where he challenges Superman to a battle while in his armored Batman suit.
We also get to see Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, who seems to currently still have his really long hair. "The devils don't come from hell beneath us," Eisenberg says to the senator. "They come from the sky". From the looks of it, Eisenberg's portrayal of Luthor as a smug genius is very spot on. It might be safe to assume that he will be losing his locks by the time the movie ends, but as to what causes it we won't find out soon.
Another part in the trailer that got fans talking is Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in her full costume, brandishing a sword and a shield as she gets tossed into a wall. There's also a part where she uses her bracers to create a shockwave of some effect, which led to a lot of cheers from the fans during Comic-con.
There's also a clip of General Zod's body, who was rumored to have appeared in the filming location of the film, now being confirmed as having a role in the movie. Although to what his body will be used for are still all speculations. According to some, this will be used by Luthor to create his version of Doomsday.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to opens to theaters on March 26, 2016.
