Universal has another hit on their hands with the box office for their Despicable Me spin-off, Minions. The kids movie brought in $115.7M domestic and over $400M worldwide. It will open in 11 more countries over the next two months. Minions had the second opening weekend for an animated movie after Shrek the Third, which opened to 121.6M back in 2007.

In second was Jurassic World at $18.11M domestic and $23.1M internationally. With a worldwide total of $1.468B, $44M away from beating Furious 7 for the 4th highest worldwide gross ever. Inside Out land in third with $17.66M domestic and $19.1M internationally.

The two newcomers did not do well. The Gallows only pulled in $9.8M. Self/Less did even worst with only $5.4M. The holdover from last week cane in with $13.8M to reach a domestic cume of $68.7M. Not sure it will reach $100M domestic.
