World-famous actor, unofficial Scientology spokesman and father to Suri Cruise, the 53-year-old can now add 'Flying Badass' to his CV. A newly released behind-the-scenes featurette from the set of upcoming action-fest, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, shows Cruise strapped to the side of a moving jet. And he was "scared shitless."
Warning, this video is not for those with a fear of heights:
Credit where it's due though, the dude's got balls. Can you imagine hanging outside of a A400m Airbus soaring 5,000 feet in the air? EIGHT times?! No, I didn't think so.
Stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood says:
"You can't hang a multimillion-dollar star on the outside of an airplane and fly around in the normal world, but Tom wanted to be on the outside of that plane... It's not a little crash and a scratch ... you're dead."
“I couldn’t sleep the night before and then came the day. I was like, ‘Okay, this is really gonna happen.' If something went wrong, I can't get into the airplane until we land. I'm feeling the force of the wind hit me. I'm actually scared shitless.”
Though this isn't the first time Tom Cruise has taken himself to dizzying heights to give us that WTF feeling. Remember that scene in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, when he casually hung from the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world?
Go Rogue. Or go home.
