Fans of the long-running Archie comic books, you're in luck! It looks like Archie and his friends are going to be joining the CW's lineup in a one-hour block of a live-action teen drama - yes, drama - titled Riverdale.

According to Deadline, the show, which was originally intended to run on Fox, will still have executive producer Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl) partnered with Warner Bros TV and Archie Comic's chief creative officer Roberto Aguierre-Sacasa.

Aguirre-Sacasa, who will write the pilot episode, spoke to Deadline saying that the CW was always the ideal home to bring these comic book characters to life, and they're finally where they want to be:

When Greg and I started talking about bringing these characters to life, our first thought was that the best home for them would be the CW. It took a little longer for us to get there, but now that we’re here, it’s feeling terrific.

Still no word on who will play the gang, but whoever takes on the roles of Archie, Veronica, Betty, Reggie, and Jughead, will be integral in ushering some pretty famous characters of the past into the present. Pretty exciting stuff!

Who do you think should play Archie?
