Spoiler Alert! This article shares some spoiler information reportedly leaked about the film.

Okay, since the awesome, glorious full length trailer for [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) is now out, we have some important clues pertaining to how Batman will fight Superman.

Some time back, Umberto Gonzalez reported that Batman will use a kryptonite-laced spear to fight the Man of Steel. No way to know if this rumor is accurate. But during Comic-Con, Zack Snyder confirmed that Batman will indeed use kryptonite in his epic slug-fest with Supes--although it sounds like it will be embedded in his exo-suit:

If you’re going toe-to-toe with the son of Jor-El, you better come correct. For his climactic rooftop brawl with Superman, Batman outfits himself with a reinforced mech-suit equipped with strength-augmenting armor and, yes, kryptonite. The design resembles the one used for the confrontation between these two in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns.

So we do know Batman will have to get his hands on some kryptonite.

In studying the recently released trailer, it kind of looks as though Batman may steal it from Lex Luthor. There is a sequence in the trailer in which we see someone on a motorcycle racing through a security gate but allowed to pass, presumably Lex frantically speeding to one of his own research facilities due to an obvious emergency/attack (note the fire).

This almost has to be Lex.
This almost has to be Lex.

We then see someone's tennis shoes, presumably filled by scientist wunderkind Lex Luthor, stepping over spent shell casings, with casualties in the background. These bullets could very well have been fired by Luthor's security goons at Batman (to no avail of course).

And we then see Lex looking--forlornly, it seems--at a specimen of kryptonite. He seems to be examining it. And he is not happy.

Could it be that a shard of it was broken off by Batman after breaking in to steal the mineral?

Something looks wrong.

There is also some footage of the Batmobile racing past an explosion and apparently about to crash through a building wall. In the next shot there is apparently an ensuing fight inside. However the building looks more rundown than a Lexcorp facility. So this may not be related, even if the speculation that Batman steals kryptonite from Lexcorp is correct.

The Batmobile seems about to collide with the wall.

Dispatching the goons inside?

Well, anyway, at this point if I had to place a wager as to how Batman gets a hold of some kryptonite it would be that he steals it from Lexcorp.

What do you think?

If you don't think this speculation is correct, what is your theory about how Batman gets kryptonite?

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is out on March 25, 2016.
