(Warning - mild potential SPOILERS for Deadpool lie below. But not, y'know, in the biblical sense. Or, at least, I assume not...)
With a whole lot of Deadpool-trailer-ish awesomeness having screened at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, it's probably not all that surprising that fan interest in the movie is as high as it has ever been. After all, not only did that trailer include a whole lot of general badassery, but it also highlighted just how rated R the movie is set to be.
Which, as it turns out, looks set to extend to more than just swearing and violence. As star Morena Baccarin revealed:
Deadpool's Set to Be Involved in a "Very Athletic" Sex Montage
Specifically, as Baccarin told CinemaBlend, Deadpool's origin story heavily features his falling in love with her character, Vanessa, which leads to something pretty darned non-PG-13:
"It’s an origin story for these characters, so you see them falling in love. You see them meeting each other for the first time and discovering that they’re kindred spirits. There’s this awesome sex montage, you see them love each other more and more."
To which Ryan Reynolds, what with him basically being Deadpool in real life, added:
"Very athletic [sex]."
And, as fans of Deadpool from the comic books know well:
When You Put Deadpool and Sex Montages Together, It Can Only Mean One Thing
And, specifically, that thing will almost certainly be something like this. Y'see, way back in Deadpool #13 - a sort-of-'70s set, flashback-ish issue - Deadpool ended up getting distinctly intimate with a young woman named Carmelita Camacho.
Which, this being Deadpool, took the form of a heavily referential, Naked Gun-inspired...awesome sex montage...
In which absolutely no level of subtlety was left un-ignored...
There's more on just why that whole scene is secretly an elaborate reference to an inexplicably censored scene in a much earlier Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. comic right here, but in the meantime...
Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?
(No, not the thing with the chimichangas...)
Could we be set to see something pretty much exactly like that scene in Deadpool?
Well, here's hoping...
What do you think, though?
