The Force is strong with this one. And so is the love.
A man named Kevin Doyle unfortunately lost his wife, Eileen, to cancer in November of 2012. Doyle sadly laments:
"From that day forward the sun does not rise for me, everyday is November the 7th, my candle has burned out. Eileen was the most amazing person I ever knew, she was so beautiful, so thoughtful and she was loved by everyone who knew her. Eileen was the center of so many lives just as she was in my life but while our time together here on earth was so very short my devotion to her is life long and I can’t imagine my life without her."
Anybody else need a tissue?
The two enjoyed attending Comic Book shows, where Eileen's bright and warm personality garnered a lot of attention. Not to mention her original art, which fans crowded around her booth to purchase.
Both Kevin and Eileen were members of the 501st Legion, a worldwide costuming organization, and both thoroughly enjoyed cosplaying as Star Wars characters.
Wearing a Stormtrooper outfit, Kevin made the walk from Rancho Obi-Wan in Petaluma, just north of San Francisco, to Comic-Con in San Diego. That's right, people! This badass man traveled along the coast in honor of his beloved late wife Eileen. If that isn't true love, what is?
Kevin hopes to start Eileen's Little Angels, a non-profit foundation created in her honor. With his money raised, Kevin hopes to create coloring books, bananas, blanket, and plush toys that all feature Eileen's art, as a means to put smiles on children's faces who are battling cancer.
Kevin barely made it in time for the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel in Hall H. But the greatest part is the fact that Kevin received a standing ovation following the panel.
Leaving Hall H, a crew of Stormtroopers followed Kevin out to show their support.
Kevin, the love you feel for your late wife is so sweet and heartwarming. I feel so inspired by you, and I think what you're doing is impressive and I know you will help children who are going through a rough time with cancer.
