Back before NBC's Constantine was unceremoniously canceled, Arrow star Stephen Amell announced that there was the possibility that Oliver Queen could appear on the the dearly departed series.
Hope was pretty much lost when Constantine went off the air, but in an interview with IGN, Amell and executive producer Wendy Mericle have reignited the potential for a crossover!
Despite the fact that CW turned down reviving Constantine the series, Mericle seems more than likely to bring the character onboard for Arrow Season 4:
Yeah, we really want to do it. It's something we've been talking to DC about and it's just a question of some political things, but also the actor's schedule. We're trying to work it out, but we don't know 100 percent if it's going to happen.
As fans are already well aware, this absolutely needs to happen. And soon. At the absolute best, this could be a way to test Constantine's popularity on the CW, maybe even leading to a full-blown series if we're lucky. At the very least, Constantine's appearance could offer a conclusion to the cliffhanger of a series finale.
Based on their optimism, Matt Ryan would be welcome to return in the role of Constantine and could be a guest star for the long haul. Considering that Season 4's villain Damien Darkh (Neal McDonough) will be imbuing Star City with some more mysticism, this is the perfect time for a character like Constantine to get involved.
If the fans want it, the stars want it, and the producers want it, it's a match made in heaven, right?
