Remember learning the planets at school? Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. Except in 2006, the official definition of a planet changed, and Pluto was downgraded to a dwarf planet.

Sucks to be Pluto, but did J.K. Rowling work her magic and see this coming? Whether you take it as an amazing Potter prediction or just a little bit of fan-found fun, you have to admit that this realization from Redditor Poe Fan is pretty neat:

I was re-reading Order of the Phoenix for the umpteenth time and just noticed Ron, Ginny, and Hermione get chased through a room full of planets (Battle in the Department of Mysteries) and PLUTO GETS BLOWN UP!! And in the muggle world, it is "no longer classified as a planet..." I'm onto you Ministry of Magic... I'm onto you!

This refers to the Battle of the Department of Mysteries portion of book 5, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. In the Space Room, Luna Lovegood fires a Reductor Curse at Pluto to defend herself from a Death Eater.

Another Redditor comments:

This only gets better considering that OotP was published in 2003 and Pluto was demoted from planet to dwarf planet in 2006.

A lucky coincidence... or magic? It's a pretty sweet little nugget either way!
